Community grants help fund and support the critical work we do here at NeighborHealth Center. We're proud to partner with Coastal Credit Union to make a difference in our community - and we're so grateful for their generous grant funding that makes our work possible. 💚👍✅

Together, we're working to provide high-quality healthcare to many underserved members of our community who may not otherwise have access to care. Coastal’s commitment to strengthening our community aligns with our mission, and we’re excited for what we’ll accomplish together!

📚📖📘 It’s book unboxing day at NeighborHealth Center!

Did you know that we are a proud participant of the national Reach Out and Read program? We provide our pediatric patients with books during well-child visits to promote early literacy and healthy relationships.

Children and their caregivers LOVE this program - which was made possible by a generous grant from the FirstBank Power of Good grant program. ♥️

Our very own nurse practitioner, Rachel Lehman, FNP-BC leads this program for us and shares her sentiments on its immense value for families.

“I’ve always loved to read, and value the benefit of books. Being able to provide an age-appropriate book to our young patient helps them feel more at ease during their visit with us, giving them something fun to focus on. Their parents appreciate being able to take the book home with them.”

Fun Fact! ✅
For babies age newborn through 4 months of age, we provide books in black-and-white. At 4 months, babies slowly start to develop their color vision. By five months, they can see the full spectrum of color - at which point we provide all the colorful books to capture their attention! 🌈📚

As you consider your year-end giving, please know we need your partnership to ensure we can meet the growing healthcare needs of the Raleigh area. NeighborHealth's work relies heavily on the support of our generous community of donors—and your gifts continue to make a tremendous difference in the lives of our patients and the health of our community. Patients like Shindano and his family who were able to flee to America after 21 years in a refugee camp in Africa and a Christian family from the Middle East who fled religious persecution are but two examples of almost 8,000 patients who have come through our doors this year—patients who live healthier, changed lives as a result! During this season of giving, please consider a final year-end gift to NeighborHealth. To make a tax-deductible donation, visit us online at http://neighborhealthcenter.org/ or scan the QR code.

Your contribution is a gift to our community and our neighbors in need. Thank you!

Loving our Neighbors through Healthcare

The founding board of NeighborHealth was formed to address the growing number of people in Wake County without access to healthcare. The board assessed existing healthcare resources and identified gaps; met with residents, healthcare providers, community and government organizations; and connected with successful faith-based health centers throughout the country.

After years of planning and building community partnerships, NeighborHealth opened a new faith-based practice in an area of high need where no safety-net clinic currently exists. We are striving to meet the overwhelming need for quality healthcare to our most vulnerable neighbors.
