Thank you to the Coley Forest Garden Club for hosting a FIGS Health Kit event at their last monthly meeting. A special thanks to Elizabeth and Brent Talley for leading this event and to Hayes Barton Pharmacy for their donation of over-the-counter medicine.

Today is Giving Tuesday! Give the gift of health by making a donation to FIGS of Wake County. Over 70,000 Wake County residents live without health insurance. For every dollar donated, 94 cents goes directly to our clients for the funding of prescription, over the counter medication, or medical supplies.

Thank you to Myra and Neil Fisher for hosting a health kit assembly event at their home recently. The Fishers and their friends assembled 150 kits for Kings Ridge and StepUp Ministry. A fun evening for all ages! This event put us over the top towards our 2024 goal of 1,200 kits!

Tuesday, September 3, is Charity Day at Hayes Barton Pharmacy. All proceeds from retail purchases will be donated to FIGS of Wake County. A big thank you to Brent Talley and his staff for their great work. Hayes Barton Pharmacy has been a pharmacy partner since 2018 and we are honored to work with them.

We had a blast working with the folks of First Methodist of Cary. They assembled 120 health kits for distribution in the Cary area. We thank them for their fellowship and their quick work!

In February 2024, we launched Caring Measures, a self-monitoring blood pressure program in memory of Bob Usry, former president. The early results are promising: over 50 participants and growing! Thank you to our friends at Alliance for piloting this program.

We had the pleasure of spending time with our good friends at Searstone Retirement this week. With their help, 120 health kits were assembled for low-income families. A special thanks to David Wolf and Joan DeBruin for their friendship and support. We are especially grateful to be a 2024 grant recipient.

We had a blast with the folks from MacTavish Subdivision this weekend! We assembled health kits for children of families experiencing homelessness. Kim and John Spencer graciously hosted the event at their beautiful home where we built 100 kits. We loved working with them.
