On Nov. 6, NCAFP President Dr. Mark McNeill and four other Medicaid providers met with NC Governor Josh Stein during a small meeting in Raleigh. Gov. Stein met with the group to discuss the impact of Medicaid rate cuts. Dr. McNeill stressed the chronic underfunding of primary care while also noting that adults with a primary care physician have 33% lower health care costs but better health outcomes. He also discussed the devastating impact the 8% cuts to primary care are already having on primary care practices across the state.

NCAFP Student Director Nicholas Wells reflects on completing medical school, choosing Family Medicine, and relying on the NCAFP the entire way. "If there is one thing that I’ve learned about Family Medicine, it’s that it is a tight-knit community held together by hardworking physicians and groups like the NCAFP," he writes.
