National Scoliosis Awareness Month
Today Dr. Hey and one of his patients, Kayleigh talked to WRAL about why early scoliosis screening and treatment are important and common signs of scoliosis. Kayleigh also talks about her journey, surgery and how 5 months post-op she was back cheering with her high school team. What a great way to wrap up National Scoliosis Awareness Month.
Kayleigh, congratulations on graduating high school and we wish you all the best as you head to ECU.
Jessie's spine school
Receiving a scoliosis diagnosis can raise a lot of questions. Jessie, one of our Schroth physical therapists shares how she not only works with patients on exercises that will help their curves, but believes in the importance of education so that patients can be in charge of their care.
Scoliosis Awareness Month
June is Scoliosis Awareness Month.
Scoliosis affects millions of people in the U.S. but when caught early more treatment options are available! The Scoliosis Research Society says, "children can be screened at any age, but idiopathic scoliosis is most commonly discovered during a child's growth spurt (9-13 years old)."
Help us spread the word!
