May is Bike Safety Month, and with beautiful riding weather here in the Triangle, we want to make sure every ride is a safe one! Helmets save lives and prevent serious injuries, but only if they fit properly.

Before your kids hop on their bikes, scooters, or skateboards this weekend, take 30 seconds to check the fit. A properly fitted helmet should sit level on the head with straps forming a V under each ear, snug but comfortable. And here's the important part: replace any helmet after a crash, even if it looks fine. The protective materials inside can be compromised even without visible damage.

Ready to ride? Call us at 919-896-7066 if you have questions about bike safety or injuries. Happy (safe!) riding, Triangle families!

Here's a fun fact that might change how you think about picky eating! Kids aren't just being difficult; they're literally experiencing flavors more intensely than we are. Their extra taste buds mean foods can taste stronger, more bitter, or more overwhelming. So the next time your child refuses broccoli, remember their taste experience is genuinely different from yours. Keep offering variety without pressure, and know that many "yucky" foods will become more appealing as they grow!
