Hey Shoupers 🔥

I want to introduce Elena from Storymind Media.

I saw her post in a local mom's group and replied immediately because... & . And we had a great conversation.

The American Heart Association hired her team to collect stories about the impact of hormonal shifts, at any phase, on heart health, including peri and menopause.

I love anything that gets these corners of women's health talking to each other so we're better supported through every phase, periods, pregnancy, PMOS, peri, all of it.

I could tell pretty quickly that Elena's, and Storymine's, values align with Shoup so I wanted to support by posting to this community!

From Elena's own words 👇

I'm a filmmaker based in Hillsborough, NC working with the American Heart Association on a video series about women's heart health across their life course. As part of our research, I'm hoping to talk to as many women in NC as I can about their experiences. I'm specifically interested in talking to women of any age (teenagers and older) with PCOS (now called PMOS), heavy menstrual bleeding, pre-eclampsia, or early menopause. It would involve a 30–60 minute Zoom call.

The impetus for this initiative is that cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death for women, yet the connection between hormone health and cardiovascular health is not widely understood. There is emerging evidence that hormonal shifts, starting with puberty, impact a woman's heart health throughout her life. AHA is leading the charge to create a comprehensive and unified approach to address the gaps in care that exist, and this video series will be part of that initiative.

If you're interested in talking with me, or have any questions about this project, send me an email or text: elena@storyminemedia.com / 919-323-1045.

Happy October!

It’s officially Menopause Awareness Month 🎉

Menopause marks the natural end of the menstrual cycle, defined as going 12 consecutive months without a period.

But here’s the thing—menopause is just one day on the timeline.

The years leading up to it (perimenopause) and the years after it (postmenopause) are part of the full journey.

💡 Did you know the average age of menopause in the U.S. is 51—but the transition can start in your 40s (or earlier)?

And symptoms like hot flashes, brain fog, night sweats, joint pain, and sleep disruption can impact daily life for years.

At Shoup™, we’re here to make sure you don’t have to walk this road alone.

Drop your biggest menopause questions in the comments—let’s talk about it, together. 👇

P.S. Know someone in menopause (or on the road there)? Invite them into Shoup (Formerly Pause&Reset) - Your Hub for Menopause Resources!!!

💡A Light Bulb Moment

When Shoup™ began as Pause & Reset in March 2024, our goal was simple: create a place to connect, share, and support one another through the menopause transition.

Over the past year and a half, we’ve reviewed every piece of data we could gather, your responses, poll answers, and the conversations we’ve had together.

It all pointed to a glaring gap that hit home during the screening of The M Factor documentary, when we asked the audience: “Who here is in need of resources?” Nearly 80–90% of the room raised their hands. Then we asked, “Who here is a resource?” Only about 5–10% raised theirs.

At the same time Shoup™ began, No Show Hero was born, cofounded by our own group's founder, Anna, alongside Gigi.

Over the last year and a half, we’ve built No Show Hero into a thriving community-driven marketplace, connecting service providers with unexpected openings to appointment seekers needing flexibility.

A couple of months ago, a light bulb went off: we can use this same model to bring women seeking menopause-informed care together with the providers and resources they’ve been searching for.

The power of a community-driven marketplace:

✔ For MENOPAUSE-INFORMED RESOURCE OR PROVIDER: Get directly in front of the women who need you, with Shoup's monthly subscription.

This includes:
🔥Unlimited ISO (in search of) responding when someone is looking for a provider/resource
🔥Spotlight welcome post
🔥Unlimited standalone posting in the Shoup Facebook group
🔥Multi-provider posting (for larger practices/orgs)
🔥Listing on the Shoup Directory of menopause-informed resources on the website
🔥Event listings on the website/FB group

If you’re interested in getting on the waitlist to subscribe, fill out our Resource Interest Form (link in the comments below).

✔ For WOMEN NAVIGATING THE PERI/MENOPAUSE JOURNEY: Find the help you need, right when you need it, right where you need it. This includes: providers, functional medicine, personal trainers, nutritionists, yoga instructors, and social connections through in-person and online events.

All resources, providers, and people navigating peri/menopause, come join our FREE Facebook group (link below)!

Same heartbeat. Different mission. Perfect timing. 🔥
