The most obvious and most necessary part of the rehabilitation process is determining why you are in pain, what you can and cannot do, and the key players involved. This is the most crucial part of the heeling process- if generalizations are made or specific areas are not examined, everything that follows will either be ineffective or will result in temporary relief. From the moment an injury takes place, the body begins to adapt in order to help the system (your, muscles, joints, nerves) attempt to normalize. Everyoneā€™s body will have a different response to injury. Pain responses and abnormal movement patterns occur almost immediately so the longer you wait, the more the system may adapt in this abnormal way. Over the next week I will be discussing the processes we use to find the source of the problem and how we can get the system to work the way it should!
