She’ll remember how she was made to feel.

Not just the details. Not just the outcome. But whether she felt seen. Heard. Supported.

Birth is a big day — one she’ll carry forever.
That’s why how we show up for her matters so much.

She should feel like a queen! 👑

💬 If you’ve supported someone through birth, how did you help her feel love, treasured, and supported?

Labor pain isn’t like the pain from an injury or illness—it’s different, and here’s why:

🔹 Purposeful – Unlike pain from an injury, labor pain has a job to do! Every contraction helps your body bring your baby closer to birth.
🔹 Anticipated – You know labor is coming, which means you can prepare with tools and techniques to manage it.
🔹 Intermittent – Labor pain isn’t constant like an injury; it comes in waves, giving you rest in between.
🔹 Normal – This isn’t a sign that something is wrong—it’s your body doing exactly what it was designed to do.

When we understand the nature of labor pain, it becomes something we can work with instead of fear.

How did you (or how do you plan to) cope with contractions? Let’s talk in the comments! ⬇️

Does hand expressing milk at the end of pregnancy affect the timing of milk increase after birth? This 2024 study has an answer. It compared groups of women with and without diabetes. Some groups hand-expressed milk during the last month of a low-risk pregnancy; others did not. The authors found the expected delay in lactogenesis II among those with diabetes. But they found no association between hand expression and onset of milk increase after birth. You can read this study here:

As we celebrate National Midwifery Week, let’s appreciate the amazing roles of midwives and doulas in your birth.

Midwives are healthcare providers who ensure both you and your baby stay healthy, performing clinical tasks and guiding you through a safe delivery.

Doulas provide essential physical, emotional, and educational support. They help you understand your options and encourage communication with your provider, enhancing your birth experience.

Together, midwives and doulas create a fantastic support team for expectant families. 💕
