Politics. Emotional and not enough logic seems to be the current process. I was a Poli-Sci and Economics minor, along with my degree in Latin-American Studies. What I was taught about politics and economics is not what is bandied-about today in most of the talk shows or news outlets. Everything is so dumbed-down to sound-bites and dog-whistle catch-phrases. And candidates who do not answer the questions, but deflect and change the subject to cast aspersions at the opposition. I am so sick of it that I dropped off and quit exposing myself to all of it, back in 2021. Now, I have re-engaged and am committed to understanding exactly what each side stands for and will attempt to do in the governing of our country. Then, I will make my final decision.
Watch the Debate Tomorrow! Get Informed. Listen carefully to what each candidate says. Watch the Fact-checkers, assuming they are deployed during the debate. Listen to who answers the questions, with documented facts, or just makes it into a mud-slinging contest.
This will be one of the most important elections of my life. At 72, most of what will be decided will not impact a great deal. But if you are younger, in your 30s, 40s, 50s -- please make the most-educated decision you can and do not fall for the chants of either side. Put your thinking caps on. I implore you.
