The name "VANURA" Homehealth Services, Inc. Through the guidance of our Consultant, Vanura Homehealth Services, Inc.

was derived from the first 2 letters of the last names of the three founding nurses. In the summer of 2000, all three worked in a Skilled Nursing Facility in Riverside, CA. And through their friendly informal discussions, each contemplated on operating their own home health agency someday. It was not until 2002 when each was compelled to initiate setting up Vanura Homehealth Services, Inc. The com

pany hit its biggest blow when one of the founding nurses decided to pull out due to personal reasons. With the help of families and friends through the form of prayers and sound advices, the two remaining founders decided to take the challenge in continuing with the task. moved into an office located at 10630 Town Center Drive, Suite 127, Rancho Cucamonga, California on October I, 2002. In February of 2003, the Department of Health Services walked into the office to perform the 1st of 2 licensing surveys. After a "good" initial survey, Vanura Homehealth Services, Inc. was permitted to provide home health services to 10 "trial" patients. On April 29, 2003, the Department of Health Services came back for the 2nd survey. All files and patient charts were meticulously scrutinized and patient visits supervised. We are proud to say that no deficiencies were found and observed by the DI-IS Surveyor. On May 1,2003, Vanura Homehealth Services, Inc. was officially given the license to operate as a Medicare-Medical Certified Agency. Due to unforeseeable circumstances, the Agency had hit another snug, on November 20, 2003, the two remaining founders had mutually agreed to part ways for the good of the Agency. Thus, Amabel Nugpo and Ramon Alan De Leon were handed the torch to follow through with the task. On June 1,2004, Vanura Homehealth Services, Inc. moved to its current location at 10700 Jersey Boulevard, Suite 460, Rancho Cucamonga, California 91730. The Agency had grown conservatively in size, with its staff, area of coverage and clients that we cater to, but we continue to maintain the very same convictions that had been instilled since its inception in 2002. The Agency had been through a lot since the establishment of this company, but through the support of family, friends, and most especially God, we continue to triumph over these challenges. We cannot predict what the future holds for VaI1llra Homehealth Services, Inc., but we continue to remain strong with our convictions and steadfast in our mission, ... and that is to provide the highest quality of care to our clients and to the community, conscientiously, ethically and morally, "one patient at a time."

They say that "all things are possible with the right glasses." Take it from Vanura Homehealth administrator Carla Nugpo, and director of patient care services Edgar Vaflor -- colleagues and teammates whose leadership and positive vibe helped propel Vanura reach its 25th year milestone.

For that we likewise say - Inland Empire's premier home health company has benefited from several professionals wearing and working right throughout its two decades and a half of existence. It is ready to celebrate its achievement with a fireworks-filled occasion for all teams, families, and friends to enjoy and embrace, set later this year. It is ready for the next 25!

Mae Joy Manayan, MJ to her colleagues and friends, is a seasoned Firehouse leader overseeing the compliance department by carefully checking everything before the actual billing process.

Asked about her thought on Vanura celebrating its 25th anniversary, she expressed, referring to owners Alan and Amabel De Leon, “Vanura is going to be even stronger. Amabel and Alan are God-fearing individuals, and they always put God first no matter what. They always talk about God, and they have a good team."

She added, "They have nurtured them, same as they have raised their kids well-mannered and polite. I am just blessed I am in this company.”

A dedicated nurse both in words and actions, Theresa Dickens has been with Vanura for more than 20 years because she found something worth-staying put: "They’re consistently patient-driven."

She explained, “I had been to at least 10 home health agencies before I found Vanura. And then I stayed because I felt their sincerity; they want to help patients. Even if sometimes they would lose money, that won’t matter for as long as they could help a patient. The focus is always to make a patient better.” #

The first time Edgar Vaflor, Vanura's Director of Patient Care Services, saw Amabel De Leon, he noticed how so relaxed and friendly their conversation that it took a while for him to realize he was already talking to the very owner of Vanura. For him it was a positive sign he just entered a work culture embracing humility and excellence.

There is an explanation for everything, Edgar insists, like why some people call him Ed and others prefer addressing him as Gar. He explained, "Tagalog culture uses the first syllable of someone's name for a nickname, while the Bisaya chooses the second syllable as a term of endearment."

Nurse case manager Celeste Magee on what attracts her to home health:

“I’ve enjoyed the autonomy of being able to go to my patient’s house in my own time and pace. I can do my own schedule, and that’s what I like with home health."

The resident "cute couple" of the entire Firehouse conglomerate - Junjun and Carla Nugpo - can have a playful argument all Valentine weekend as to who first pursued who, much like that endless debate about which came first, the chicken or the egg. Fact of the matter is, they fell for each other, have long been faithfully married, and will continue hiking alone together in some mountain getaway.

Junjun kept it short with his amiable dry wit: "It all started when I saw her staring at me. It was love at first sight."🥰

*Junjun is the middle child brother of homehealth care queen Amabel De Leon and go-to guy for fix-everything-IT&E.T., while Carla is the graceful Administrator for California's 25-year strong Vanura Homehealth Services. They are blessed with daughter Paula who's likely the amused arbiter in their light-hearted love debates.

As we head into the Valentine weekend, let some romantic thoughts from a Firehouse leader set the mood. Here's what Don Lee, shown here with wife Mateng during their recent visit to Vanura Homehealth, California, has to share when asked about that point in time he realized she's the one.

"Since our wedding was within seven months of meeting each other, I felt like when you know that you've met that special someone who you want to spend the rest of your life with, you want the 'rest of your life' to begin immediately."

*Don currently steers the launching of Ubora Health platform, while Mateng serves as Administrator for Vanura Arizona.

Celebrating birthdays as an integral part of company culture is acknowledging the power of the individual in a collective harmony, of leaders serving their teams and community as they contribute to the growth and welfare of the business.

Revered Filipino broadcast journalist Luchi Cruz-Valdes rechanneled her four decades of mainstream TV news reporting experience to create her own digital talk show Usapang Real with Luchi (URL), where she interviews interesting personalities using social media as platform.

For her American dream series, she personally reached out to Amabel De Leon whose inspiring story birthed Vanura Homehealth Services and steered remarkable entrepreneurial expansion -- from three jobs to multiple companies, from homelessness to several offices housing a community of health care professionals.

Collaborating with the premier journalist is TFC motivational speaker Avelynn Garcia, as the three of them appeared in one frame with a copy of Amabel's Bloom On The Battlefield.
