Once you no longer need to ask yourself questions like:
-Why can't I follow through on my plans?
-Why do I feel so exhausted all the time?
-Why can't I focus on work?
-How can I stop second-guessing myself?
…life gets a lot smoother.

$12 to save a life.

Naloxone / Narcan is a literal miracle.

If someone has taken more of an opioid than they can handle, if they had a contaminated or tampered batch, or if they are just a curious child/teen messing around with Grandma's pain meds, they could end up in a terrible mess.

A little spray of Narcan into their nose could make the difference! It means medical professionals have time to arrive and save your loved one, teammate, colleague, or friend before it's too late.

This drug used to cost a LOT more, and it wasn't practical for everyone to purchase it. Now it is. Get a 2 pack, learn the signs of an opioid poisoning/ overdose, keep it in your first aid kit. Hopefully you'll never need it, but you'll be grateful it's there if you do.

Two years after the big ChatGPT revolution, I finally allowed generative AI to contribute to some blog content.

Gemini AI was not a gracious guest. I think it trolled me a little and suggested it would take my job. A human guest blogger would NEVER.

Takeaways: this was fun. There are ways to interact with AI that are helpful. I did NOT save any time. Writing without AI would have been faster. And I'm gonna need to see a LOT more research before I recommend any mental health AI tool, service, or chatbot to the people I care for.

Have you been a little AI-curious lately? Me too. The companies that develop generative (conversational) AI are making some very big promises, especially about AI and mental health. They have created everything from simple meditation apps and mood trackers to chatbots that pretend to be therapists.....

In the first therapy session, your therapist gives you lots of practical information and will ask a lot of questions about you. It’s normal to feel a little nervous about this process if you’ve never done it before. This isn’t how regular conversations go. Conversations in normal life usually include a little more back and forth sharing. It’s normal to wonder about your therapist, but what can you ask?...

In short, it’s a cluster of symptoms that develop after lots of repeated awful experiences. OR it’s the kind of PTSD that is worsened by additional family or social hurts. Symptoms of cPTSD can include the typical PTSD symptoms: Nightmares Flashbacks…...

As a trauma therapist, one of the main battles I help clients fight is the battle with their own mind. Trauma can trick you into thinking that you’re not good enough, not doing enough, not worthy of good things. It will try to make you remember bad things and make you forget everything that's great about you. Trauma is a liar....

Let's define some terms, okay? Someone who experiences some extra sensitivity, or utter bafflement toward others, (because humans are regularly confusing af), might be showing neurodivergence. Neurodivergence is the word used to categorize the sensory, behavioral, and emotional expression of people with developmental differences, autism, or ADHD. But neurodivergence is only one type of neurodiversity. There are LOTS of ways to think, experience, and feel our way through life, and part of my job is helping you understand, work within, and expand…...
