On a daily basis, our therapists treat a wide variety of injuries and conditions. Here we see Yessenia working with patients struggling with disc herniation , shoulder dislocation, and a hand injury. Each one needing different techniques, equipment, and care.

In Ecuador, our PT Yessenia works with Marcia to help heal trauma to her right leg.

Her treatment plan includes the following actions:

- Physical agents
- Electrotherapy
- Magnetotherapy
- Pressotherapy
- Laser and therapeutic ultrasound
- Tapping or neuromuscular taping
- Isometric exercises
- Muscle strengthening
- Gait re-education
- Return to daily life activities

This plan is only made possible through your support. Your donations fund both the salaries of our in country therapists and also provide the essential technology/equipment needed to make treatment like this a reality.

Our therapist, Faith, working with Andrew in Kenya.

Andrew is 32 years old and has cerebral palsy. When he first came to us , he was unable to sit properly or stand independently. Howeve , with consistent therapy he is now able to sit, stand, and take a few steps 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

This is only possible because of the support we receive from our partners and donors like you. Thank you for making a difference in not only Andrew’s life, but so many others.

Meet Toni Belko, one of our newest Board Members 👋🏼

Toni grew up in Indiana and met her husband, Steve, while attending a college program in Cambridge, England. They have lived in Southern California since 1982 and have been married for 43 years. Together, they raised four sons, each now married, and enjoy the blessings of 14 grandchildren. Toni & Steve are owners of Concordia Supply along with three of their sons.

Toni’s life is marked by her deep faith in Jesus and her passion for serving others. She has long been an active volunteer in her local church, leading Vacation Bible School programs, youth groups, women’s Bible studies, and worship teams. Her joy, warmth, and kindness leave a lasting impression on everyone she meets.

Since 2002, Toni has dedicated herself to annual mission work in Romania, serving at-risk children through VBS camps, children’s foundations such as Ana si Copiii, and organizations like Teen Challenge and Refuge Romania. Her heart for vulnerable people and communities has also taken her to Kenya and Tanzania each year since 2011, where she & Steve have partnered with Empowering Lives International serving in children’s homes, prison outreach, and entrepreneurial training.

Mighty Men Well Drilling was started in 2017 with their son Andrew in Tanzania to bring clean water & Jesus to rural villages in Tanzania. Joysprings school in Nairobi’s Kibera slums is another ministry close to her heart.

Known for her outgoing personality and love for children, Toni finds joy in caring, playing, and sharing God’s love with young ones, whether her own grandchildren or children across the globe. Her life exemplifies compassion in action—faithful, joyful, and full of grace. As a new board member, Toni is looking forward to contributing to the mission of Compassion Physical Therapy.
We are thankful to have her.

Today we shine a spotlight on one of our incredible founding team members Gina Bekendam.

Gina has been with us since the birth of and has played a key role in helping get this organization off the ground.

In addition, she also helped organize trips and has served as Treasurer at CPT for the last 12 years.

As she hands the baton off to a new treasurer, we are forever grateful for her leadership and support. We are cheering her on as she continues her work in women’s ministry and most importantly, as a grandma.

TRANSFER TRAINING

Behind the scenes in Mexicali where Michelle, a partnering PT is teaching the student physical therapists transfer training using a slide board.

A slide board (also called a sliding board) is used to transfer individuals who have difficulty moving their legs between surfaces like a bed and a wheelchair. The board reduces the need for lifting by allowing the individual to slide across it.
