Types of Coping Skills

Distraction
Taking your mind off the problem for a while

Puzzle, books, artwork, crafts, knitting, crocheting, sewing, crossword puzzles, sudoku, positive websites, music, etc.

Although distracting ourselves from our problems over a long period of time can have negative consequences, taking breaks from distressing things for short periods of time allows us to rest, rejuvenate, and then address our issues with a clearer mind and calmer emotions.

What are some healthy things that you like to do to distract yourself from worries? Distractions can be activities we enjoy, people we like spending time with, or self-care treats. Share with us here what you enjoy most!
