The other day we took a group of residents to the Norton Simon Museum in Pasadena. We were treated to a private tour of the art and grounds that really explained all about the history and stories behind the artwork. After the tour we enjoyed lunch at the Garden Cafe.

A favorite art class in our community is "Rubber block Printmaking" with Loren Kantor. Residents have the opportunity to carve their own print block to create greeting cards. This month we created Holiday cards that residents can share with friends and family. The process is fun and easy.

Our foodie adventures took us to Din Tai Fung in Torrance, known for their world renowned soup dumplings, residents had a front row seat to the action. They really enjoyed watching how the delicious food was made.

Every other month residents host an Artist’ Gallery. This month was an “Anything Goes” theme, the artwork didn’t have to be personally made, it could be something bought or gifted. We welcomed all residents, artist or not to participate and share with us their special piece.

Community is at the Heart of all we do. On October 25, The Canterbury's Executive Director, Dave Hone and Sales Director, Terese Campbell attended the 50th Anniversary Gala for the Circle of Palos Verdes Art Center. We were honored to participate as a Diamond Sponsor of the evening, along with Merrill, EP Wealth Advisors, VEFA Gallery and The Artists' Studio of PV.

It was a beautiful evening enjoyed together with friends from many sponsoring Palos Verdes businesses, all coming together to support a great cause. Proceeds from the silent auction support the Arts on the PV Peninsula and surrounding South Bay.

The celebration continued yesterday with a “Tribute to Veterans” afternoon concert by one of our Creative Living Partners, The PV Symphonic Band. They performed to a packed house with our Veterans sitting front row.
