With many making the trek to the Frisco/McKinney area this week for the Xbox Bowl & The DII National Championship, I just wanted to throw out some helpful tips to make your eating decisions a touch easier while enjoying some GREAT FOOTBALL!

There is a good mix of old school cafe/diners, to nicer steak house fancy meal joints, some authentic Mexican, and of course when you are in Texas you have to make at least one stop for the BBQ!

Absolutely horrible! Such a heartbreaking day for a local staple. I don’t care if you liked the place or not, its local and they earn an honest living from this biz, and have stayed true to Jonesboro & their landlords for generations.
I hate it for all of these businesses, but lets all help them find a new place to call home in the weeks to come!

New Mexican Trout from The Terrace at Taos Country Club was a light but filling diner option.
Pan-seared rainbow trout filet served over a green chile smothered relleno topped with melty chipotle butter.
Beouf Bourguinon
Red wine braised beef with carrots, onions, mushrooms, garlic, & pearl onions served over roasted garlic mashed potatoes.
Closed out the evening w/some cocktails & some Pumpkin Cheesecake.
On a cool night in Ranchos de Taos, New Mexico, this is such a perfect meal at a great restaurant, w/a very beautiful scenery located in the valley of the Cristo Mountains.

Its not Micky D’s, its not KFC, its Sparkys BBQ and Espresso in downtown Hatch, NM! A local favorite and rightly so. The decor inside and out are soooo cool! The place was packed at 3pm on a Friday which is rare anywhere ya go. When you are in the chile capital of the world you gotta order the Hatch chile burger or Hatch chile chicken sandwich. Both were good, but the burger is one of the best I’ve had anywhere in the country. Cooked absolutely perfect, topped w/grilled chiles, with cheese melted over the top to hold all the peppers in place. No sauce needed, no other condiments, just the great taste of good quality meat and locally grown peppers.
You may be drawn in by all of the super cool statues outside, but you’ll leave thinking its one of the best meals you found in the state of New Mexico.

Taos Cow has some cold scoops that are so unique and bring locally sourced product to their menu like art.
Voted one of the Top 50 in the World, and as someone who has tried lots and lots of ice cream, you will get no argument from me.

Mole Micaela is everything I hoped my first meal in New Mexico would be like!
Traditional Aguascalientes-style mole poblano is the perfect topping for their savory Lechon accompanied by spanish rice and warmed corn tortillas.
We also ordered the chips and salsa which comes w/a great unique house version of guacamole & a salsa fresca that has a little kick.
My guest had the mozzerella-filled, rolled chicken enchiladas Christmas style (topped with red & green chile), and served with our potato-carrot-cactus sauté.
The service was fantastic! Our waiter helped us out tremendously w/how to choose the most authentic New Mexican style dishes & how to teek them.
This place is right in the heart of one of the coolest areas in Santa Fe, so the front was all open to the street, w/such a historic look to the decor. Especially the bar area. The music was great until they completely switched the genre halfway through our meal.
This was one of our favorite meals we had in all of New Mexico in our 8 day journey from top to bottom of the state.
Look forward to a return trip to the state & to this place!
