🌿 This Week at Zen Counseling 🌿

Just a gentle reminder that our office is closed this week (December 22–28) as our team takes time for rest, reflection, and connection during the holiday season. 💛

Even though our doors are closed, we encourage you to take this week to practice your own form of self-care — whether that’s slowing down, spending time with loved ones, or simply breathing deeply and being present. ✨

We’ll return on Monday, December 29, refreshed and ready to support you in the new year ahead.

From all of us at Zen Counseling, we wish you peace, joy, and mindful moments this holiday week. 🎄

The team at Zen Counseling wishes you peace, warmth, and mindful moments this holiday season. 🌿💛

If you need to reach us during the break, you can leave a message or send an email — we’ll respond as soon as we return.

As we move through this peaceful holiday season, we invite you to pause and reflect on what restores your spirit. ✨

Self-care looks different for everyone — it might be a quiet morning walk, a warm cup of tea, journaling, or simply taking a deep breath and being present. 🌸

💬 We’d love to hear from you:
What’s one self-care activity that rejuvenates your spirit and brings you peace?

Let’s inspire one another with ideas that promote balance, mindfulness, and well-being — this season and beyond. 💛

🌿 Do you ever feel like your stress response takes over before you can even think?
You’re not alone — and your nervous system is actually trying to protect you.

You're invited to attend the "Understanding Stress & Finding Your Calm Button" workshop on December 29th from 6–7pm. This workshop is designed to help you understand why stress happens and how to work with your body instead of against it.

What we’ll explore:
🌱 Why the nervous system goes into “high alert”
🌱 Guided nervous system reset exercises
🌱 Practical grounding strategies
🌱 A take-home Calm Kit to continue your self-care at home

📍 58 Doris Avenue East, Jacksonville, NC 28540 — Main Library Meeting Room

Everyone deserves tools that help them feel calm, capable, and grounded. 💚

🌿 Now Accepting Insurance + New Clients! 🌿

Introducing Amber Griffin, LCMHC-A at Zen Counseling

We are excited to announce that Amber Griffin, Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate, is now accepting insurance and has openings for new clients — including Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT) and coming soon: Intensive Couples Therapy.

Amber holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University. Her counseling approach is rooted in compassion, collaboration, and emotional safety. She creates a nonjudgmental space where clients feel genuinely heard and valued.

Amber’s therapeutic style blends:
✨ Person-Centered Therapy — honoring your story, strengths, and goals
✨ EFIT (Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy) — helping clients understand emotional patterns, heal attachment wounds, and build secure inner connections
✨ Cognitive Techniques — exploring patterns of thinking that impact well-being
✨ Mindfulness Practices — supporting balance, presence, and self-awareness
✨ Somatic Therapy Training — integrating the mind–body connection to promote holistic healing

In addition to individual counseling, Amber will soon be offering Intensive Couples Therapy — a 2–3 day immersive experience designed to deepen emotional connection, strengthen communication, and support couples in creating lasting change.

Outside the therapy space, Amber enjoys time with her four fur babies and finds grounding through pottery, a meaningful creative outlet.

If you’re seeking a warm, emotionally focused, and holistic approach to healing, Amber would be honored to support you.
