Glenda to Dorothy, “You’ve always had the ability to figure out how to get back home, you just had to figure it out for yourself.”
So often we force change that is not the right answer for us. This becomes clear after we’re knee-deep in regret. Ahhhh, the beauty of hindsight.
Perhaps before making a knee-jerk or hasty decision, you sit in contemplation and pay attention to the hints the universe is sending. Stop the extraneous noise and pay attention.
Your next right answer awaits. Click your heels three times.

Sometimes, you just need a buddy to be by your side, even if you don’t verbalize it, even if you don’t think you need it, even when you seem to have it all together.
The truth is, we are hardwired for connection. It’s how communities survived the toughest of times.
Never be afraid to ask for help. Don’t be ashamed to accept help that is offered, even if it arrives as just someone being with you.

How do you ‘unplug’?
An average adult’s life is filled with to dos; a list that never seems to dwindle.
If you keep pouring from that cup and never refill, pretty soon you’re empty.
Crash; burn; … MAYDAY!
Don’t let your cup become empty.
Unplug; refuel; recharge.
Need help?

Be mindful that a quick fix can be a band-aid and does not get to root cause.
Basic needs as an organism:

Unplanned shifts can be frightening, challenging, even overwhelming. There may be feelings of immense sadness or fear as the storm hits and we feel the crash after crash of the waves, wondering if it will ever slow and cease its casting us recklessly about, tormenting us.
Then, the storm passes, we feel immense relief, as the ground underneath us is stable once more.
Suddenly we realize that the movement of all of those waves has placed us in a new situation, relationship, job, etc. What we felt to be cruel and torturous, has changed our worldview, our mindset, or paradigm.
As we reflect on the experience, we now view it from a point of gratitude, knowing that while unplanned, we have prospered as a result.
Storms may require donning some protective gear, but they are the experiences that force change, even if we didn’t think we needed it.
Don’t fear the storms, take solice in the knowing they will pass and the rebuilding creates the masterpiece.

What are some things you do under the umbrella of self-care?
06/11/2025
Many of my close friends and colleagues have been lamenting as of late about the druthers of being single. They speak about it as though it were a horrible ailment of which they cannot cure.
My question to them, if there is curiosity around opinion, is to look within and determine what’s spilling out. We attract what we send out. Let me explain. If you’re filled with fear, self doubt, hang ups about you weight, age, job, etc., the energy you emit is filled with lack.
If you squeeze an orange, what comes out?
There can be no other option, right?
Go back and read that again.
How can another want to be a part of the energy you’re expelling if it is filled with lack and self-loathing? If you’re attracting the ‘wrong’ energies, inquire within.
Using terms like failure, wrong, sin, creates negativity around a thing you ascribe meaning to. If we instead view each experience as an opportunity for growth, and how to do things differently moving forward, how can that be viewed as failure?
Love yourself!
Be happy and find the gratitude in what is good. It’s all perspective.
Change your lens, change your world.
We get more of what we focus on!
Being single is not a disorder, but, attracting the wrong energy can be, and you get to choose.
What’ll it be?!

This time of year allows us to regroup and remind ourselves that we are a human BEING, not a human ‘doing’.
Take time, even for 15 minutes, every day to BE in the moment. To notice all the beauty within and around you. We are magnificent energies that are capable of so much more than our to-do lists.
Guess what? You’ll never get it all done, so take time to smell the roses, to sit with a companion energy, to be grateful of all the beauty around you if you just stop, and BE in the moment.

We get more of what we focus on, it’s universal law.
Change your lens, change your world.

Each day is a fresh 24 hours. No matter what happened yesterday, no matter what tomorrow brings, when you stop and really think about it, all we ever have is right now.
What will your self-talk sound like? How will your time unfold? What will today’s story look like? YOU get to decide.
03/11/2025
Be kind. Practice grace. Be love.
02/27/2025
We love people where they are at, or decide if it’s time to remove ourselves from a situation or a relationship that we cannot repair as it is beyond our ability to do so.
Change what you can, recognize what you cannot, choose your next course of action.

Sugar & Soul was born from the understanding that people are multidimensional and to obtain overall well-being we must nurture and provide support to our spiritual body as well as our physical one.
If we consider that every cell in the body requires energy to function, sugar (= energy) then becomes the cornerstone for all human organisms. The soul or the essence of who we are is constant and eternal. These two facets are the primal components of what it means to be human and are therefore intertwined as there cannot be one without the other. This connection indicates a collaboration to support the person in all ways; mind, body, and spirit. The words are encased in a circle to indicate the continuation of life that is unending. The orange coloring represents the Sacral (2nd) Chakra that impacts joy, creativity and compassion for others. The purple coloring represents the Crown (7th) Chakra that is associated with the connection to higher realms of consciousness.
The butterfly is symbolic for transformation, an awakening of the person from self-imposed boundaries and limitations, or being someone that they are not meant to be. The metamorphosis from cocoon to butterfly that must occur is representative of the freeing evolution that a person experiences and how those positively charged changes improve overall well-being.
