Dr. Richard C. Rebuck, OD opened Rebuck & Associates Eye Care, PLLC, also known as R & A Eye Care, in September, 2011. He had worked in several other types of practices and seeing how they were run. This made him decide that he wanted to take over how things were done where he worked and most patients would say that he and his staff have done a good job.
We strive to provide a thorough comprehensive eye exam using very modern equipment while taking sufficient time to explain what we do and why we recommend having it done - all in a low stress environment. Our electronic phoropter system allows you to compare your old and new prescriptions at the touch of a button, so even subtle improvement with the new prescription is more noticeable. We don’t use the air puff to measure eye pressures, so that alone is a big attraction to some patients.
Something new and exciting that we offer is myopia therapy, which is often done using orthokeratology. To the best of our knowledge, we are the only practice in the area doing this. To learn more about it, click here https://www.orthokacademy.com/information-for-patients/ Many more children are becoming myopic, or near-sighted, now than in the past, and their myopia tends to increase while they’re growing, thus increasing their dependence on corrective lenses and increasing their risk of other eye problems, like retinal detachment and glaucoma. Slowing the rate of myopic progression helps to reduce the risk of these other associated risks as well, but one of the most impressive “WOW” factors is that many patients undergoing orthokeratology no longer have to wear their glasses and can still see clearly without surgery. Another big advantage is that it can even be done on young children, unlike LASIK surgery. Contact us for details.
Our practice is not one of the typical retail chains that just want to do a brief eye exam and sell you glasses and contact lenses. Don’t think we won’t provide those services, but we’re also organized to provide medical eye care for dry eyes, computer vision syndrome, glaucoma, cataracts, infections, allergies and can even take a piece of metal or wood out of your eyes, should you be unfortunate enough to experience that. So if you’re considering going to urgent care or the emergency room for an eye problem, call us first. We are in network as a provider for most medical insurance and vision plans.
We also offer extensive dry eye testing that enables us to show you images of your eyes to help patients understand why they’re experiencing discomfort and to monitor whether your dry eyes are improving at each visit. Even children are starting to experience dry eyes more commonly, especially those who spend more than a couple hours each day on electronic devices. One nice aspect of this is that most medical insurances will help to cover the cost of your dry eye evaluations, so contact us if you’re experiencing varying clarity of your vision, dryness, redness, itching or a scratchy sensation in your eyes. Our office also performs blepharoexfoliation treatments using the BlephEx system and this can really jump start the improvement of your dry eye symptoms.
