Hello, incredible Love Warriors and friends!
Your energy and feedback are what drive us forward! As we constantly strive to elevate and improve our community space, we embrace the beautiful necessity of pivoting when it means better serving all of you.
With immense excitement, we are thrilled to announce that Eliza's House Apothecary Collectibles Bookstore is moving to its vibrant, permanent new home at Eliza’s Omni Center, located at 35 North Potomac Street!

Woohoo!!! TGIF my friends!! The sun is shining and the weekend is here! We can’t wait to see everyone for our Love N Bloom event tonight! Being able to share what we are doing to help our community and what you can do to help us, what it’s all about!

It takes a village! You can also do your part by becoming a love warrior. Just ten dollars a month will help those in our community to help end hunger, youth homelessness and breast prosthetics for those who are struggling after breast cancer with affordability issues.

Just think of one venti Starbucks and a cake pop you could get in a day, could help by paying that one time a month could strive to help your community !!

Keeping with the theme of meeting the team, today’s spot light is on Jessica McKinley, Director of Community Engagement. You know we asked our brain buzzer question… What are your go to spices or flavors when cooking?

Jessica: To answer your question, I let that decision up to my husband, Noah, he is the chef in our house. And a very good one too!

Jessica is a veteran and dedicated full-time student, she's working towards her psychology degree with a dance minor, with the goal of becoming a dance movement therapist. She is currently attending Hagerstown Community College and plans to transfer to Frostburg State University in the spring of 2026.
Jessica brings her whole heart to the mission of Eliza’s House. Her leadership is rooted in empathy and a strong sense of belonging. She fosters human connection by creating spaces where people feel heard, valued, and supported. She believes when humans connect to nature and embrace authenticity, including our struggles and grief, we feel a sense of belonging. When we build connections with others it nurtures a deeper understanding of ourselves and the world, strengthening our sense of belonging, empathy, and self-identity. Authenticity thrives in spaces where belonging is felt because it creates an atmosphere where a human can make positive, meaningful contributions to their communities and when a person has a sense of belonging, they find their identity. And all it took was a connection.

We hope you have a beautiful weekend full of grace and love! Stop by the shop, and tell us all about it! We’ll be there! ❤️

Good afternoon beautiful ppl! It’s a terrific Tuesday to go for a quick walk downtown and come to Eliza’s house for a cup of coffee and a relaxing moment to unwind or check out a new book to read! We are going to continue our meet the team messages to give you a better look at some of the great people working to make a difference in your community!

Today is a real treat! Listed below, you will find the original founders of the organization. These ladies are truly inspiring and give a new meaning to determination and confidence.

Ofcourse, we took a moment to have them answer a brain buzzer question. What was the book that had the most significant impact on you and your why?

Bonnie: my inspirational books.
Joyce Myers Battlefield of the Mind. The book reflects the battle is within ourselves most of the time. It helps you to reflect within yourself. It also allows me to have a deeper relationship with God

I can definitely see why she chose this! Nothing better than being inspired!!

Natasha:

Good morning, and this is going to sound crazy. I love to read. But…… it wasn’t anything inspirational……. It was the Harry Potter series…… let me explain…….. there was such a controversy over the books that I had to read them because my kids were at an age where they looking at them. In the books, Harry lost his parents, was abused his entire life, he had obstacles over and over again, had to fight for his life all through his teenage years, but, through all of that, he never lost his greatest gift, and that was to love. With love, you can conquer anything. 😊
Well said, Natasha! Tune into the page for our next spot light and give it up for our founders!!! Hats off to you ladies🎩

It’s your turn!!! What book had a significant impact on you and why?

Good morning beautiful community! I don’t know about you, but I would say it looks like a great day to venture outside and come visit Eliza’s House!

Over the next few days, we will be posting the introductions of our
team members so you can get to know those behind the scenes of this Beautiful organization.

First up it’s the unstoppable Executive Director, Jason McGill. We like to shake things up every now and then, so we’ve also included a brain buzzer question answered by him!

If you had to lose one of your senses, which would it be and why?

Answer: I’d choose the ability to hear. I think that would be the sense that would allow me to be even more humble and would teach me better patience with myself.

Wow, that does sound like a challenge, but also a great way to learn about how to handle adversity. I bet we have a book in the shop for that!

Comment below ⬇️ on what sense you would lose and why. We would love to get to know our fam and those who would like to know more about our mission! You can find out this and so much more at elizashouse.org.

Jason, thank you so much for all you do and will continue to do for this community! Tune in Monday for our next spotlight!
