My journey towards my passion was planted 20 years ago in high school when I first learned how therapeutic massage could be towards healing and relaxation. I learned that I really enjoyed giving backrubs to friends and when I got married in 2004, it became one of my favorite ways to show love to my hardworking husband. After delivering my 3 daughters at home with a midwife, I became very passionate about birth as well, longing to share with other women how beautiful and empowering birth could be rather than the horror many people portray it as. I briefly considered becoming a midwife myself, but with three little ones close together, it wasn't the right timing. Fast forward to 2022, and my little girls have grown into beautiful young ladies, aged 8, 10, and 11. My husband and I decided to transition away from the craziness of Metro Denver, Colorado and away from our sign business of 15 years, and I was left pondering what my next step would be. An article came across my news feed discussing the benefits of giving birth with a doula and a lightbulb went off! I immediately knew that it was my future, bringing together my passion for birth, massage, and working with other women. As a certified birth and postpartum doula, I'm excited to partner with new and expectant mothers to help accomplish exactly what they want for their pregnancies, births, and post-partum experiences. The changes a mother's body and mind undergo from conception to post-partum are immense, not to mention the adjustments the entire family will walk through together. I'll be there for support through it all (or as much as a clients wants or needs). Incorporating massage into prenatal visits, during labor, in the post-partum period, and even massaging babies (and teaching parents how to join in!) is a big part of my doula services. I can't wait to meet each one of you and join alongside you in your journeys towards health and healing, towards motherhood, & towards the light you are called to shine!
