A melanocytic nevus is the medical name for a mole, a very common skin growth formed by pigment-producing cells. Most moles are harmless, but changes in size, shape, color, or symptoms like itching or bleeding are important to have checked by a dermatologist.

Routine skin exams help ensure your moles stay healthy and allow concerns to be caught early.

When in doubt, get it checked out.

A quick exam by a dermatology expert from The Skin Institute can provide peace of mind and help keep your skin healthy for years to come.

Comedones are clogged pores. One of the most common and early forms of acne. They form when oil and dead skin cells get trapped in a pore.

Two types to know:
Blackheads: open pores that appear dark
Whiteheads: closed pores that look like small bumps

They’re usually not painful, but if left untreated, they can lead to more breakouts. Using harsh products or over-cleansing can actually make them worse.

The providers at The Skin Institute are able to help clear comedones safely with the right treatments and skincare plan, keeping pores clear and skin smooth.
