The horses and healing event scheduled for Saturday, March 23, 2024 at the barn will be canceled due to Horses being at the welcoming back ceremony. We hope to see you there.

Our team is truly humbled to receive this award. We are honored to have received this award. We are grateful to be able to work beside so many amazing humans that are trying to create space for healing and growth in the lives of those they serve. Children's Home Society of South Dakota does some of the toughest work imaginable with grace and integrity. Thank you for this great honor.

Congratulations to Red Horse Healing, who received the Partner Protecting Kids Award at the Making a Difference for Generations Gala sponsored by Rushmore Rotary. Shown: CHS Child and Family Services Director Tifanie Petro presents the award to Bridget Williams and Sierra Stover. Red Horse Healing provides equine therapy to help heal trauma.

CHS Community Based Services staff spent the morning playing with horses and learning about equine therapy with Rapid City-based Red Horse Healing. Horses are great tools to support youth who have experienced trauma to develop connection, relationship and regulation skills.

We have been enjoying our first week of our 6th Christmas with Horses.
We have clients dress horses in Christmas outfits and take pictures. We have some families who have done this for their family Christmas picture for six years.
