Danny Thomas had the vision of St Jude in the 1950s. He envisioned a facility where children would receive life saving treatment (free of charge!) regardless of race, religion, or creed. He created this facility in segregated Memphis, TN in the 1960s. To this day, St Jude has held true to Danny Thomas’ vision and families never receive a bill for medical care, travel, lodging or food. Danny said, when a child is in the fight for his/her very life, “all a family should focus on is helping their child live.” 🥹

Thank you, Danny Thomas for your beautiful vision and tenacity/grit to see your dream to fruition. While fundraising to build St Jude Danny said he’d rather have $1 donations from one million ppl than a $1 million dollar donation from one person. ❤️ What an incredible gift to the world he was.

Our fellowship trained Mohs surgeons Drs Greg Wittenberg and Robert Sage are outstanding surgeons and clinicians. These skin cancer and reconstructive surgery gurus are occasionally sighted piercing ears. 😊 Happy belated birthday to our dear Ruby Louise! 🩷

Beyond grateful (and exceptionally humbled) for the prayers, love and support. ❤️ Surgery thank the Lord was a success. 4 tumors removed (1 bonus tumor found on my optic nerve). 13 tissue samples obtained in total — all WHO grade 1 meningiomas (benign). Grateful for the exceptional expertise of Dr Michael Link, his neurosurgery fellows and residents, and the entire Mayo Clinic nursing and support team. Recovery is anticipated to be tediously slow (3 months). I am trying to be patient (not my strong suit). 😊 Today is post op day 15 — walking and pain have improved considerably already.

Ted Fromm Megan Deschamp Lana Hanson should be nominated for sainthood. ❤️ I still require a lot of support. Love and thanks to countless friends and family members who rushed in to assist with, love on, and distract Oliver, Ruby, and Max in our absence.

Gratitude and love to Lycia Corkran Thornburg and Audra True Sayler for tremendous support and for organizing the meal train which has been incredible. ❤️ I am forever grateful to my extraordinary partners at the Rapid City Medical Center - The Skin Institute who jumped in like loving, vigilant superheroes from the onset of my symptoms. The overwhelming love and support from RCMC admin, the entire RCMC family, VA of the Black Hills family, and my dear patients did not go unnoticed. My humble “thank you” is woefully inadequate. ❤️
