Important to note!

Monument Health Rapid City Hospital has designated a new entrance for mothers about to give birth. These patients can enter through the West Entrance of the hospital, the north-facing entrance about 100 yards west of the hospital’s main entrance.

In the past, mothers would check-in at the Emergency Department. The new entrance will allow them to access care more quickly and will also reduce their chances of being exposed to the COVID-19 virus through proximity to staff and patients in other parts of the hospital.

Thank you so much for all the love and support. I am so grateful to be a doula and feel so incredibly honored to witness the earth side welcome of so many sweet souls. I will be stepping away from my doula work ((just temporarily)) for some personal reasons. I am always here for support and education so please free to reach out if I can be there for you in a different role. I will be back. ✌🏼

There is a phase in labor, appropriately called transition, where a woman will meet her breaking point. She’ll feel as though she just can’t go on, and she is right. The maiden in her is not strong enough for the task at hand. It’s during this time the maiden dies so that the woman can be reborn as a mother, with her child. A new, more capable version of herself with far more strength than she has ever known. From maiden to mother.
