Our Story
Dr. Sarah Santos (Martinez), D.C. is a graduate of Los Angeles College of Chiropractic at Southern California University Health Sciences in Whittier. She received her Doctorate of Chiropractic with Honors in 2008. Her ongoing studies and experience include emphasis in sports injuries, rehabilitation and performance as well as kinesio-taping and active rehabilitation. She has also been fortunate enough to treat families in all stages, from infancy to the elderly, pre- and post-natal, and all stages in-between. Dr. Santos’ passion has always lied in treating athletes, and because of this, she went back to school and completed extra education and training, receiving her Certified Chiropractic Sports Practitioner (CCSP) certification in November 2018. Dr. Santos began studying kinesiology and exercise science at the age of 17, when she enrolled at Cal Poly Pomona in Pomona, CA. She was a member of their track & field team as a pole-vaulter. And as a former competitive gymnast, she taught and coached gymnastics and tumbling throughout college, and for many years thereafter. Dr. Santos has had the opportunity to work in the Sepulveda VA -- helping veterans get out of pain, the Whittier Spinal Rehabilitation Center – assessing post-operative patients, Cal State Fullerton – helping keep athletes healthy and properly rehabilitating injuries, as well as in family practice and sports injuries based wellness centers. She has also volunteered with AIDS Walk Los Angeles for many years, as well as treated walkers with the Avon Breast Cancer Walk. A former athlete, Dr. Santos greatly understands the physical stress a body goes through in all sporting endeavors, be it a hobby or competition. She also understands the tools necessary to prevent injury as well as to recover quicker and become stronger. She realizes that injuries do occur in day to day activities, and so has focused on helping people of all ages heal and move forward in a physically healthier state. She has been treating athletes and their families for over 10 years throughout Southern California and Idaho, yielding amazing results with her patients. Dr. Santos volunteered with many different teams, in varying sports, age ranges, and ability throughout her time in Southern California, and is excited to bring her expertise to North Idaho, and not only get people feeling better, but also performing at their peak level.
