Meet Alexander Sanchez, MSN, APRN, FNP-BC 👨‍⚕️

Alexander is a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner dedicated to compassionate, patient-centered care for all ages. With experience in primary care, chronic disease management, women’s health, geriatric care, and in-office procedures, he brings a strong and diverse clinical background to every patient visit.

Before becoming an NP, Alex earned his medical degree in Cuba and completed postgraduate training in critical care—giving him a comprehensive understanding of complex health conditions.

Miners Colfax Medical Center:
Proactively Managing Water Safety

Transparency and safety are at the core of everything we do at Miners Colfax Medical Center.

During routine environmental testing, we identified the presence of legionella bacteria in our building’s hot water system. While legionella is common in many water systems and does not spread person-to-person, our team immediately activated enhanced safety protocols out of an abundance of caution.

Working closely with our water quality consultants, we’ve begun a comprehensive remediation process that includes system flushing, disinfection, and increased water testing. Additional monitoring is ongoing to ensure the continued safety of our patients, staff, and visitors.

It remains safe to be in the facility, and all hospital operations continue without interruption. However, as a precaution, we are temporarily advising patients and staff to avoid showers until testing confirms full clearance.

MCMC remains committed to full transparency and proactive action to maintain the highest standards of public health and safety.

🤍👶 OB Spotlight at MCMC

With parent consent to share, Kelsey and TJ Smith recently stopped by administration to speak with CEO Brian and OB manager Shelby about their positive experience in our OB department. Their son was born in our unit on 12/07/25, and they shared how happy they were with the care they received.

Hearing directly from families about their experiences means so much to our team. We are proud of our OB providers and nurses who work every day to deliver safe, compassionate care so close to home.
