Our hospital was represented by the MCMC Black Lung team at the 2025 National Black Lung Coalition for Respiratory disease clinics. The team heard from distinguished doctors nationwide about the challenges coal miners face due to workplace exposure. Experts from prominent institutions, such as National Jewish, located nearby, addressed respiratory illnesses with potential issues. The conference saw participation from HRSA, UMWA, NIOSH, and pulmonologists across the country, with tracks focused on medical, legal, and benefits counseling aspects. Our team acquired comprehensive knowledge and is poised to assist miners in obtaining benefits for workplace exposure.
