Last year we received the Best of Jackson County Greenhouse/Nursery award. We picked on dad because he was so proud of that award. Carried it around and showed everyone. It's even displayed in our sales area. It was a bit tough on our hearts when we received it again this year, but such an honor. We know he would've loved it so much. Thank you to all our customers, as we always say we are truly blessed.

Employee of the week goes to Cassie Comer and Jaylyn Evans!!

We could not pick between the two because they are just such hard workers who have dedicated so much time and effort to the greenhouses. They are truly the best and we would be lost without them. They are such blessings and we love you so much, you are by far our favorites ❤️

A little recap of last week. We've been SUPER BUSY trying to catch up. Things are different but something about the greenhouses is therapeutic to us all..... or maybe we are just keeping our minds and bodies busy.

This is a really tough post this year. I had been saving educational memes to share throughout March for multiple myeloma awareness month. Then dad got sick and multiple myeloma cancer made me angry and became something I don't want to think about. But dad participated in every single study they asked him to at OSU because he didn't know if he'd survive this incurable cancer but he hoped his sickness would help someone else survive. Dad started with 2 fractured vertebrae's, multiple lesions on his ribs, and 85% cancer in his bone marrow. He lived 3 years of good quality life. In the end he also had a fracture at the end of his spine causing hip pain and blast cells of cancer in the bottoms of his legs making it impossible to walk. This cancer is still a rare cancer but has pockets of cases in different areas. WE ARE ONE OF THOSE POCKETS! It's an environment issue but that doesn't seem to be addressed. Our area has a very high rate of cases. It is so important to have your CBC checked at your annual visits. Dads had not been checked for years when he was diagnosed. We want to share this info so hopefully his journey will help someone else. We have so many relationships with others in the community going through the same cancer. We love all of them dearly, but our biggest wish is that no one else joins our club.

It is with broken but grateful hearts we are informing everyone that we lost Dad early this morning. Our lives will be forever different but we know he is now healed. We can't express how much we love you all. Please excuse us if we don't always respond to messages, this is a rough process. Please continue praying for our strength to get through this.

Dad successfully came off the ventilator. But at this point we are just going to go private for a bit. We love everyone and ask that you keep praying.

Just wanted to give an update: they aren't taking dad off ventilator today. The team of doctors discussed it and feel he would benefit more from staying on the vent and allowing his body to rest while it's receiving the dialysis. He was agitated and fidgety, plus the issues with his heart and BP before the breathing tube and they do not want to take the chance of putting him back on it.

He did have to get a blood transfusion and platelets again today.

Please be in prayer for Dad. They are attempting to take him off the ventilator. Pray they can take him off without causing stress to his body.

Dad update: (the best I can, we are just exhausted and it's hard to remember everything). They were supposed to put a pic line in both sides of dads neck last night under a twilight. One would take the place of his IV, the other was for the dialysis. They sent us out of the room and gave him medications. Dr came to the waiting room shortly after and informed us that dad was being to combative (not mean, just scared not understanding he had to lie still.) There was 0 possibility of the doing the procedure. So then our only option became a ventilatior. It was the hardest decision we've had to make but his kidneys need help and we are left with no good options. So as of now dad is sedated and on a ventilator. His dialysis started at 7 this morning. They will probably let the dialysis do its job for a little bit before they try to take him off the ventilator. Please continue to pray. We are sorry if we aren't responding to messages, this is just really hard for us all. Much love to everyone, your prayers are keeping us going.

UPDATE: look who's all smiles!!! Dad is feeling much better. Still has a cough but much, much better.

He saw the lung doctor yesterday and has another check up in 3 months, but everything went well.

Saw his hematologist today and was approved to get a chemo treatment after that appointment. His numbers are all coming back up. They were concerned with one immune system number and ordered a few extra labs. He might have to do an immunotherapy treatment as well to get his system boosted.

Thank you so much for always praying us through the tough times. We love you all.
