One more thing you can do to prevent su***de is to advocate for su***de prevention and mental health programs. Be an advocate for su***de prevention by letting our policy makers know the importance of these programs and the work done at the state and community level. ***depreventionmonth

Carbon County Prevention Network (CCPN) offers su***de prevention trainings to help the community understand and identify the signs of suicidal ideation.

Here are all the trainings we provide:

Question.Persuade.Refer (QPR)
This is a 60-90 minute training for anyone in the community who wants to learn about how to ask the question, persuade someone to get help and then refer them to that help. Contact Rachel Swanson for more information. rachel.swanson@wyo.gov

"Silent Struggles: The Link Between Traumatic Brain Injuries and Su***de" (A webinar) September 25th at 10 am
https://us02web.zoom.us/j/89762115268?pwd=btq3qabknbRJcmCBwqYohCP5rlUS3G.1&jst=3
This presentation explores the critical and often overlooked connection between Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI) and increased risk of su***de. Drawing on current research, clinical data, and real-world case studies, we will examine how TBIs—whether from accidents, sports, or combat—can profoundly impact mental health, emotional regulation, and cognitive function.

Conversations on Access to Lethal Mean (CALM)
This is a 60-90 minute training to understand how people complete su***de and the ways to put time and distance between a person, who is in crisis, and the means by which they could complete su***de.
Contact Tracy Young for more information. communityisprevention@gmail.com

Applied Su***de Intervention Skills Training (ASIST)
This is a two day training for people who work closely with the community and need the skills to identify the signs of Su***de: law enforcement, teachers, school staff, counselors, community leaders, etc

We have an ASIST training coming up November 10 &11 in Saratoga. To register contact Tracy Young. communityisprevention@gmail.com

Please reach out to either Rachel Swanson or Tracy Young at anytime for more information about Carbon County Prevention Network.
