Valley Hospice is a proud sponsor of the Fighting Cancer 5K. All proceeds from this annual event benefit families in the Ohio Valley undergoing cancer treatment.

Our sponsorship was made possible through our “Jeans Day Fund.” Valley Hospice employees are permitted to wear jeans one day per week but must pay $1 each time they do so. That money is then put in a “Jeans Day Fund” and earmarked for community support. Our employees are incredibly generous and committed to giving back to the communities we serve and live in.

This week, Valley Hospice suffered a devastating loss at our Central Administrative Office. Due to a malfunction in our fire suppression system, water poured through our ceilings in the middle of the night causing extensive widespread damage. We are still in the process of determining next steps, but are incredibly thankful that this did not happen in a patient care space. Thank you to our clinical leaders and IT team who made certain that patient care was not interrupted in any way!

Thank you to Panhandle Cleaning and Restoration for coming to our aid in the middle of the night and to our friends at WesBanco for delivering lunch as we assessed the damage on Tuesday.

Thank you to our amazing staff for coming together and working through this challenging situation with resiliance and dedication to our Valley Hospice mission.
