Our ladies at Sunrise were busy as bees today! 🦋

✨They spent the morning crafting beautiful butterfly hanger decor for Mother's Day. These lovely pieces are headed for spray paint and a finishing touch next, but they are already so adorable! 🎨💖We can’t wait to see the final results of all their hard work

🐻 HAPPY NATIONAL GUMMY BEAR DAY! 🐻

Things got a little "wiggly" today at Sunrise! To celebrate everyone’s favorite chewy treat, our residents became master candy makers for the afternoon. 👨‍🍳👩‍🍳
We found a super simple recipe on Pinterest, grabbed some fun molds, and got to work. It was incredibly easy to do, and the best part was seeing the smiles (and the blue tongues!) as everyone sampled their handmade creations.
There’s nothing like a little DIY sweetness to brighten up the day! 🍬✨

Happy National Picnic Day from Sunrise! 🧺☀️

Our kitchen team whipped up some amazing goodies to celebrate the day in style.
Our residents enjoyed a classic picnic spread with their choice of:
🍔 Juicy Cheeseburgers or 🌭 Grilled Hot Dogs
Served with all the fixings: baked beans, potato salad, and coleslaw!
And for the best part—dessert! 🍰 We topped off the meal with delicious white cake and fresh fruit. Yum! Of course, no picnic is complete without checkered tablecloths, and even some (decorative!) ants and butterflies to set the scene. 🦋🐜
A huge shout-out to Pam and Danielle in Dietary and Shawn in Activities for making this such a special day for everyone!

🌅🥤 Sunrise’s Dirty Soda Bar was a Hit! 🥤🌅

Our staff absolutely loved it! This was one of the best turnouts we’ve had for an event, and the drinks were delicious! Thank you to everyone who participated and made it such a fun day!

🦋 Exciting News from Sunrise! We hatched 10 beautiful butterflies! 🎉 We ordered 2 butterfly kits from Amazon, which included everything we needed to grow these magnificent creatures.

Each kit comes with a voucher for the caterpillars, which arrive in a cup. They take a day or two to settle in before waking up and enjoying their food, which is conveniently provided in the cup. After a few days, they attach to the lid, cocoon, and harden—then we move them to their net home.

Each kit contains 5 caterpillars, and we can keep them for up to 5 days before letting them go free. During their butterfly stage, we feed them sugar water using a specially designed sponge bowl. Watching them transform through all these stages has been a delightful experience for both our residents and staff!
