"YOUR PELVIS IS TOO SMALL TO BIRTH VAGINALLY"

Pretty please, tell me, HOW you know my hips are too small? 🤔

❓Was it because of a previous cesarean that you assume was MY BODY to blame?

❓Is it because I’m short and my husband is tall?

❓Are you aware that my body is blessed with hormones like Relaxin that make my joints and tissues flexible?

❓Did you forget that my pelvis is designed to expand up to 30% more to accommodate the baby?

❓Or that the baby’s head is designed to mould to fit through the narrow birth passage?

❓Or that upright pushing positions help the pelvis open further?

❓Or that the va**na is lined with rugae that open the pleated folds of the va**nal walls like an accordion?

❓Did you know that true CPD (Cephalopelvic disproportion) is extremely rare and often misdiagnosed?

❓Or what typically causes CPD- Extreme malnutrition, bone deformities or pelvic injuries; therefore it’s highly unlikely I have true CPD?

❓Did you perform pelvimetry to measure my pelvis? (which, BTW is a terrible indicator of birth outcomes because it doesn’t account for natural expansion in labor).

❓Are you aware that tension in the pelvic floor is more likely to cause baby to get “stuck” than a small pelvis?

❓❓❓So, please tell me, HOW DO YOU KNOW my pelvis is too small to birth?

I have so many questions…

(And you should too!)

💯THE TOILET IS DILATION STATION DURING LABOR!💯

🚽you are naturally prone to relaxing your pelvic floor and perineum while sitting on the toilet.
🚽the bathroom is a place of privacy and solitude and you are used to relaxing in this room.
🚽you are using gravity
🚽you are opening your pelvis.
🚽you are allowing your baby lots of room to rotate and navigate the birth canal.
🚽you can also turn around and straddle the toilet with a pillow in front of you for comfort.

We call it the “dilation station” for a reason. I’ve encouraged many mommies to spend some time laboring on the toilet. It’s not uncommon for baby to come rather quickly after that 🤗

Fetal Ejection Reflex✨
This is literally the expelling of your baby out of your body involuntarily.
Read that again…..
✨INVOLUNTARILY✨
Meaning: no one needing to tell you when, how, and how long to push your baby out!!
But Don’t worry, the labor stages prior must take place before this can occur (😉) and this is exclusively to NATURAL BIRTHING MAMAS.
It’s absolutely amazing when we know how to work WITH our bodies (instead of forcing or intervening) and are able to optimize our divine abilities!
Fun fact! Key signs of the onset of the ejection reflex happening soon are typically are exhibited by a woman’s urge to move into an upright position, the desire to lean over a raised bed, or the comfort of getting on hands and knees in a crawling position!
