The Hershey Bears are growing beards for No Shave November and this Sunday night at 5 p.m. they’ll take the ice for Hockey Fights Cancer at the Giant Center!

Dr. Jay Raman, Chair of Urology, will join Jim “Jonesy” Jones, the Hershey Bears’ in-game announcer, for an on-ice interview during the first intermission.

Fans can also visit our concourse display celebrating 10 years of the No Shave November campaign with Mid Penn Bank featuring silent auction items, a “Grow the ’Stache Zone” where you can honor or remember someone and other fun giveaways.

Menopause looks different for every woman. While hot flashes and night sweats are well known, some symptoms are less expected — like cold chills, hair thinning, bloating or changes in breast fullness.

Penn State Health experts Dr. Cynthia Chuang and Dr. Sarah Horvath say:

🍽️ Bloating & digestion changes: Hormone fluctuations can slow digestion and cause bloating. A high-fiber diet may help.
💇‍♀️ Hair thinning: Hormonal changes can lead to hair thinning. Treatments like minoxidil may help though results take months.
❄️ Cold chills: Chills can follow hot flashes or happen on their own. Therapies for hot flashes may help both extremes.

Our Virtual Menopause Clinic, a collaboration between OB/GYN and general medicine at Penn State Health, helps women in perimenopause and menopause find treatments that work for their lives.

Over the weekend, Mid Penn Bank hosted its inaugural Dash for the Stache 5K and one-mile Fun Run as part of this year’s No Shave November campaign in support of urologic cancer research at Penn State Health.

Dr. Jay Raman, chief of the Department of Urology, along with urology resident, Elizabeth Martin, and several patients took part in the 5K, while staff, medical students and faculty supported the event as volunteers.

Now in its 10th year, No Shave November has raised more than $1 million since 2016 to support Dr. Raman and our urology team as they work to advance imaging, diagnostics, post-operative care and community outreach for urologic cancers.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this year’s event a success.

The ringing in your ears — what does it mean? 🔔

Dr. Jackie Price, audiologist at Penn State Health Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery, explains tinnitus, hearing loss and other common sound-related disorders.

Tinnitus can be a buzzing, ringing, hissing or whooshing sound in one or both ears. It’s often linked to hearing loss and can affect sleep, concentration, relationships and even increase risk of falls.

🎧 Protect your ears: use earplugs or earmuffs for loud noise above 85 decibels, like concerts, fireworks or power tools. Early testing can help catch hearing changes before they become more serious.

Learn how hearing aids, sound therapy and counseling can improve quality of life.

A record-breaking Pay 4 Play… again! 🎉

Our community came together in a big way during the 19th Annual Pay 4 Play on The Official People's Morning Show on 105.7 The X — raising an incredible $404,895 for Children's Miracle Network Hershey and the kids and families at Penn State Health Children's Hospital.

Thanks to hosts Nipsey, Jen Shade and Vince, the 28-hour broadcast helped push the event’s 19-year total to more than $4 million.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who contributed and to The Official People’s Morning Show team for their commitment year after year. 🍎 Penn State Health hosts inaugural Food As Medicine Forum

Last week, Penn State Health, Penn State College of Medicine and Allegheny Health Network brought together 175 leaders from across Pennsylvania for the first-ever Food As Medicine Forum.

With support from Highmark and Rite Aid Healthy Futures, the event featured experts from health systems, community organizations, food access partners, research teams and state leadership. Discussions focused on clinical connections, innovative programs, evaluation and research, and policy action.

Secretary Russell Redding opened the forum, and keynote speaker Katie Martin of More Than Food Consulting shared insights on advancing Food As Medicine efforts statewide.

The day underscored a shared commitment across Pennsylvania to strengthen community health through better food access, stronger partnerships and long-term, sustainable solutions.

Pay 4 Play is back Nov. 20–21!

105.7 The X and Nipsey, Jen Shade and Vince are bringing the 28-hour radio marathon to raise funds for Children's Miracle Network Hershey at Penn State Health Children's Hospital. Last year over $387,700 was raised — this year the goal is $400,000!

💙Meet Evie: she went from a sore throat to fighting for her life in just days. Donor-funded ECMO support, music therapy, Child Life services and Pilot the facility dog helped her recover — and today she’s thriving and dreaming of helping kids like her.

Donate, pick a song and help give kids the gift of growing up. Every dollar counts — and during special matching hours, donations are doubled!

🎶Let’s make miracles happen together!
