- “HIV services across the nation, including HIV prevention and treatment programs, are experiencing significant disruptions, unprecedented threats and increasing restrictions, according to a recent survey of HIV clinicians.

“…77% of the HIV specialists in the survey anticipate “moderate to significant disruptions” in the next 12 to 18 months.”

- ❤️ Each year on December 1st, we celebrate and honor the lives of those we lost to HIV and AIDS on World AIDS Day.

This year, Co-County Wellness Services will also be celebrating 40 years as an organization serving our community.

In keeping with tradition, we’ll be holding this event at The Inn at Centre Park.

We’ll raise a glass in remembrance, we”ll celebrate the advances made in medicine to help end HIV and we’ll toast to those who have helped CCWS along the way. 🕯️

- It’s the National Day of Action to End Violence Against Women with HIV, a day dedicated to addressing the ever-present issue of gender-based violence against women living with HIV.

At ETAF, in partnership with the DG Murray Trust () and the Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project (), work is being done in addressing this issue by honing our focus on a Sukuthula Initiative — a multi-year initiative aimed at supporting community organizations that address challenges at the intersection of gender-based violence and HIV.

#40 - It’s been 40 years since our organization began this incredible journey, —and it started with a phone call from a desperate mother looking for help for her son who was dying from AIDS.

As we hit this milestone, we recall our humble beginnings and the achievements of the last four decades. And we reflect on the incredible experiences we’ve shared with our community.

Starting with our all-volunteer organization as Berks AIDS Health Crisis, to who we are today as Co-County Wellness Services.

Today we are an agency dedicated to improving the public health of our community through service, education, and advocacy.

Here’s to the many lives we’ve touched and the countless that have touched ours during these last forty years.

Serving Our Community

Co-County Wellness Services (CCWS) is a non-profit, 501(c)(3), community based organization serving Berks and Schuylkill Counties.

We began as an AIDS Service Organization in 1985. Our services have evolved to address other s*xually transmitted diseases (STDs) and adolescent s*xual health. Our current service continuum includes: prevention (STDs, HIV, Teen Pregnancy); screening and treatment (STDs); counseling and testing (HIV); and care (HIV case management and treatment adherence counseling).

All of our services are free and confidential without discrimination in regard to age, ancestry, citizenship, ethnicity, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, medical condition, disability, race, religion, s*x, or s*xual orientation.

CCWS is the only comprehensive HIV/STD service organization in Berks and Schuylkill counties. Through our prevention, screening/testing, and care services we reach more than 9,000 people a year.
