John P. Feeney Funeral Home, Inc.

John P. Feeney Funeral Home, Inc. John P. Funeral Home was founded in 1941 in a modest row home on the 1200 block of North 10th Street.

Feeney Funeral Home provides quality and affordable cremation and traditional funeral services in Reading, PA, Berks County, Lancaster, Lebanon and Schuylkill Counties. After the attack on Pearl Harbor, John opted to close the funeral home and volunteer for military duty—the only funeral home to do so even though an exception could have easily been granted. After the war, John reopened the funeral

home at 839 Washington St. and continued to operate it at this location for the next 23 years. In 1969, the funeral home was relocated again to its current location in Centre Park. Built in the early 1900s by the Nolan family, the three-story mansion features 28 rooms, six bathrooms, and a sub basement. The historic property served not only as the funeral home but also as a residence for members of the Feeney family. Throughout the year, the mansion features free concerts for the public, afternoon tea, and fundraising events for local nonprofits. It is also open for the Centre Park Historic District's Garden and Christmas tours every year.
