Refresh Berks May Mobile Shower Schedule

Refresh Berks is pleased to share the May schedule for its mobile shower program serving individuals experiencing homelessness throughout Berks County.

Refresh Berks provides free, safe, and accessible shower services at rotating community locations, with the goal of restoring dignity and supporting basic hygiene needs for those experiencing homelessness.

During May, showers will be available at the following locations and times:

Tuesdays: Café Esperanza
2:00–4:00 PM
105 W Greenwich Street

Thursdays: Penske Beach
12:00–2:00 PM
255 Riverfront Drive

Fridays: Trinity Lutheran Parking Lot
10:00 AM–12:00 PM
527 Washington Street

Berks Counseling Center was honored to attend the Welcome Home Party for LightHouse Women and Children’s Center, a very meaningful event. 💛

We commend LightHouse for the invaluable work they do for local women and children and are proud to provide mental health services to residents at both LightHouse and Hope Rescue Mission, supporting their journey towards healing and stability.

This aligns with our mission to support the community. We truly value our partnership!

🌟 Meet Our Counselor in the Community! 🌟

We’re excited to highlight Leomary, one of our dedicated BCC counselors, who recently attended the Mental Health Resource Fair at Reading Area Community College (RACC).

Leomary was on-site, connecting with students, sharing information about available behavioral health services, and helping promote awareness around mental health resources and support. Events like these are so important in breaking down barriers and making services more accessible, where people learn and grow.

🌀Day 3 of Spirit Week brought the color! 🌀
BCC staff turned the day into a walking work of art with some fun tie‑dye style. Every shirt had its own personality, and the creativity definitely brightened the day. Thanks to everyone who joined in and made Day 3 one to remember! 😄✨

Two of our housing case managers, Kysha and Katie, attended the Reentry Simulation hosted by Connections Work, and it was truly an incredible, eye‑opening experience. The event allowed participants to step into the shoes of someone transitioning from incarceration back into the community, highlighting just how many challenges individuals face during reentry.
Can you tell Kysha received some great news? 😊
We’re grateful for opportunities like this that deepen understanding and strengthen the compassionate work our team does every day.
