🚒 Day Trip Adventure! 🚒

ProBerco participants had an amazing day visiting the brand-new 9th & Marion Fire Station! The group had a blast exploring the station, getting a behind-the-scenes tour, and learning all about what our local firefighters do.

The highlight? Robert got to climb onto the fire truck and try out the sirens—pure excitement all around! 🚨

🛒💙 2026 Partner in Business: Redner’s Fresh Markets 💙🛒

At ProBerco’s recent Awards Banquet, we were proud to recognize Redner’s Fresh Markets as our 2026 Partner in Business—an honor given to a company that demonstrates exceptional commitment to employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities.

For several years, Redner’s has been a valued partner, providing meaningful, hands‑on work experiences for individuals in our Vocational Program at the Berkshire Square store. Participants prepare deli sandwiches and wraps, shred rotisserie chicken for chicken salad, and assist with sandwich orders in a truly inclusive and competitive work environment. They are welcomed as part of the Redner’s team—and wear their Redner’s uniforms with pride.

A key to this success is Terry Herbein, Deli/Prepared Foods Manager, whose support has been instrumental from the very beginning. Terry’s welcoming approach and step‑by‑step training have helped our crew build confidence and skills in a fast‑paced retail setting. We also gratefully acknowledge Alan Gantert, Store Manager, whose commitment to inclusive employment makes these opportunities possible.

St. Vincent de Paul Ministry, Holy Guardian Angels Parish 💙

At ProBerco’s recent Awards Banquet, we were honored to recognize the St. Vincent de Paul Ministry of Holy Guardian Angels Parish as our 2026 Outstanding Volunteers.
Giving of oneself—through time, talent, kindness, and generosity—is how a community grows stronger. ProBerco is truly blessed to be supported by an entire group of volunteers so deeply committed to meeting the needs of others.

For several years, members of the St. Vincent de Paul Ministry have generously donated craft and activity supplies for our day programs and included ProBerco in their Angel Tree Initiative. By thoughtfully fulfilling extensive wish lists from the men and women we support, these volunteers have made a meaningful and lasting impact. The personalized gifts shared with individuals living in our community homes have not only made the holidays brighter, but have also enriched daily life in lasting ways.

💙 2026 Partner in Caring: Tower Health at Home Hospice 💙

At ProBerco’s recent Awards Banquet, we were honored to present the 2026 Partner in Caring Award to Tower Health at Home Hospice—a team that exemplifies compassion, dedication, and heart in every sense of the word.

The difference between doing a job and doing it well is truly caring, and that quality is evident in the care Tower Health at Home Hospice provides every day. Their team supports our program participants during end‑of‑life journeys while also offering guidance, reassurance, and comfort to our staff during some of the most difficult moments.

We are especially grateful for Heather Speece and Sierra Moyer, whose professionalism and empathy distinguish their work. By learning ProBerco’s regulatory requirements, understanding the unique needs of each individual, and delivering care with deep respect and compassion, they consistently go above and beyond in service of those they support.

For the kindness, dignity, and genuine care shown to our participants and care teams—and on behalf of Dennis and Tom and all who walk these journeys with us—we are deeply grateful.

🐾💙 2026 Partners in Friendship: Paula Miller & Kingsley 💙🐾

At ProBerco’s recent Awards Banquet, we were delighted to recognize two truly favored companions—Paula Miller and her sweet therapy dog, Kingsley—as our 2026 Partners in Friendship.

For more than three years, Paula and Kingsley have faithfully visited our Community Participation Supports Program each week. Their visits are so cherished that participants eagerly ask, “Is Kingsley coming today?” One individual loved Kingsley so much that she even adjusted her schedule to be sure she never missed a visit.

Kingsley joined us at the banquet, proving himself the perfect gentleman—calm, comforting, and endlessly lovable. Paula’s kind, patient, and engaging presence creates a welcoming space where meaningful connections happen naturally.

As Roger Caras said, “Dogs are not our whole life, but they do make our life whole.” From sharing photos of Kingsley in his festive holiday outfits to being the source of countless smiles and moments of joy, Paula and Kingsley have truly enriched lives.

At our recent ProBerco Awards Banquet, we had the honor of recognizing Auman Funeral Home as our 2026 Community Partner—an award we give with deep gratitude and respect.

One of the most meaningful and difficult parts of supporting individuals at ProBerco is being there not only in life, but sometimes in loss. Being a friend, caregiver, and cheerleader can mean saying goodbye. While those moments are heartbreaking, they are also reminders that a life mattered—because it was known, loved, and remembered.

In those moments, ProBerco relies on the compassion and guidance of Auman Funeral Home. Year after year, their team supports our staff and families with exceptional kindness, helping us create thoughtful, dignified, and meaningful tributes for the individuals we serve. Their care eases one of the hardest responsibilities our team carries.

The professionals at Auman’s have become more than a partner—they are truly part of ProBerco’s extended family.

🏒✨ 2026 Partner in Progress: Reading Royals & Santander Arena ✨🏒

We were thrilled to honor the Reading Royals and Santander Arena as ProBerco’s 2026 Partner in Progress at our Awards Banquet—a special evening where we celebrate the participants and community partners who help make ProBerco the incredible organization it is today.

What started back in 2021 as an idea for a walk for inclusion turned into a dream partnership rooted in community, commitment, and heart. Fast forward to March 29, 2026, and our 6th Annual Harmony Walk for Inclusion became our biggest yet—double the participants and non‑stop smiles!

Hosting the walk at Santander Arena meant no weather worries and all the fun, thanks to the amazing energy of Royals players, Slapshot, and the Ice Angels—plus endless photo ops.

Huge thanks to Amanda Eckert, whose leadership and coordination helped take this year’s walk to the next level, and to Tammy Dahms, whose vision and unwavering support have guided the walk from day one.
