Update on Curb & Gutter Project

We have been notified by the contractor that they will be in town soon to do the curb and gutter replacements on Rock Hill Dr., Scheve Ct., and Lakeview Dr. Work notice letters will be delivered to all affected residents today.

Upcoming Construction Work

We would like to give notice that there are several construction projects that will be happening in the coming weeks. At this time, we don't have a specific schedule. Once we hear from the various contractors regarding their schedule, notices will be sent out to the residents in the respective work areas.

Locust Street Patching/Paving - W.S. 4th St. to W.S. 6th St.

Asphalt Patching/Overlays - Hilltop St., McCarthy St., Steven Dr., Patti Ct., Diane Ct., and Laverne Ct.

Sidewalk Replacements - S. Main St. Between E.S/W.S. 3rd St. and E.S./W.S. 4th St. and between W. Field Dr. & W. Shiloh Dr.

Curb & Gutter Replacements - Rock Hill Dr., Scheve Ct., and Lakeview Dr.

Update as of 7:00 am 10-9-25.
The contractor will not make it back today. All signs will be picked up.

Due to the contractor having some equipment issues, this work will need to continue tomorrow. Please note that the No Parking signs have been left up where the work still needs to be completed. Please obey the signs even though they show only Wednesday's date. We apologize for any inconvenience this causes, but this extra day of work is out of our control.

There is a contractor going to be in town tomorrow trimming the trees along the highway. Please obey the No Parking signs so they can get access to the trees with their equipment.

Notice of Job Opening

The City of Red Bud will be accepting applications for a part-time meter reader in the Public Works Department. The rate of pay is currently $18.10 per hour. There shall be a maximum of 999 hours per year per employee. Applicants must be at least 16 years of age with a valid driver’s license and will be subject to pre-employment drug testing and physical. Applications can be picked up from and returned to Red Bud City Hall, 200 East Market Street, Red Bud, IL 62278 between the hours of 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., Monday – Friday or can be found on the city website at www.cityofredbud.org. Applications will be accepted until 4:00 p.m. on Friday October 24, 2025.
