Brrrr.. today is officially the first day of Winter! Some tips to help survive it!
• Dress in Layers: Wear loose-fitting layers of warm clothing, including a hat and mittens, which are warmer than gloves.
• Stay Active: Maintain body heat by staying active, but avoid overexertion. Take frequent breaks from the cold to avoid a sudden drop in body temperature.
• Adjust your Driving: Slow down and accelerate and decelerate slowly. Avoid using cruise control on icy or wet roads.
• Prepare your Vehicle: Keep your gas tank at least half full to prevent a full tank from freezing, check antifreeze levels, and ensure your tires, heater, and defroster are in good working order.
• Keep a winter survival kit: Pack extra cold-weather clothing, blankets, water, and a flashlight in your car.

Remember when you'd come home from a restaurant or bar, and your clothes would smell like an ashtray? Or the hazy smoke that used to hang in the air of public places? Thanks to the Montana Clean Indoor Air Act, those days are a thing of the past. For twenty years, this law has protected our right to breathe clean, healthy air in all enclosed public places and workplaces across Montana. And now, those protections are even stronger! The Act has been updated to include e-cigarettes and va**ng devices. That means no smoking, va**ng, or using ma*****na products indoors, protecting everyone from harmful secondhand aerosol. For more information, please call CCPH at 406-446-9941.
