Our Story

​Our Mission First Choice Clinic has been serving the greater Red Wing, MN community since 2006. Our mission is to educate and empower our community to make healthy, life affirming choices. We are a 501c3 non-profit organization, offering medical, education & support services to anyone in need. First Choice Clinic is able to offer all services to our clients at no cost thanks to our generous donors. ​ Our Clients First Choice Clinic specializes in working with people in crisis situations, especially when an unplanned pregnancy or children under the age of three are involved. We provide care to men, women and families from a wide range of ethnic, cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. Though many of our services are geared towards women, we also have male mentors and services especially crafted for men. We understand the important role fathers in the lives of their children, we strive to empower fathers to establish healthy relationships with their children, regardless of the family dynamics.

Our Impact In 2016 we had 817 total client visits, having served 208 distinct clients. We performed 85 pregnancy tests and 95 ultrasounds, and tested over 50 clients for Sexually Transmitted Diseases. Our incentivized parenting program, also known as “Earn While You Learn”, continues to be our most utilized program, with 95 individuals and families participating in it last year alone. We also distributed over 6,500 diapers to those in need!

​Our History In 2006 we opened as New Beginnings Family Services, a Pregnancy Resource Center offering educational and material assistance to those in need. In 2013 we changed our name to First Choice Clinic and expanded our services to include pregnancy testing and ultrasounds. We continued with the momentum by added testing and treatment for Sexually Transmitted Diseases in 2014. We are thrilled to be expanding our services yet again, to include Life Coaching. Our intent with this is to assist our clients in becoming more resilient, creative and increasing their belief in self.
