MILESTONE OF THE MONTH ALERT! Congratulations to Tracey Schuppel for 20 years at Hiawatha Homecare! 💚
Tracey joined Hiawatha back in our “infant years,” looking for flexibility as she balanced multiple jobs. What she found instead was something far more meaningful: the chance to grow alongside the families she cared for.
“As a nurse in homecare, you truly become an integral part of the team and get to know your client,” she says. “These long-term relationships, along with truly making a difference, are what’s most valuable to me.”
Across two families spanning more than a decade each, Tracey has done exactly that. She’s been there through school days, life transitions, summer camps, and cross-country travel — helping her client experience childhood and adolescence with safety, joy, and dignity.
One family shared just how much her presence has meant:
“Tracey is more than a nurse — she is a friend and a family member. She has always anticipated our daughter’s needs and been a strong support in her care and advocacy. We have been blessed with her care and devotion through life-threatening events and emotional ones as well.”
Tracey treasures those memories too:
“There are unexpected perks — traveling to different states for fun and educational opportunities, and meeting people who became important parts of my clients’ support networks. For me, it’s the whole package deal!”
And through it all, she’s valued the flexibility to work backup, part-time, or full-time as life evolved.
“Hiawatha has always been able to accommodate my need for flexibility,” she says. “They’ve been there through many of my life transitions — personal, family, and professional — and I’m very appreciative of that.”
Tracey, thank you for 20 years of heart, steadiness, and extraordinary care. You’ve made a lasting difference in the lives of every family you’ve walked alongside 💚
