Get those babies checked! Does your child mouth breathe? Have a small mouth? Frequent cavities?

For babies, do they have difficulty breastfeeding? Reflux? Even babies that nurse well can later be exposed to an environmental trigger as children and their tonsils and adenoids will enlarge and cause sleep apnea and mouth breathing.

It’s a multifaceted problem, work with your pediatrician or general practitioner and dentist. Ask for a sleep study and an ENT referral. A cone beam CT can also help diagnose. See a myofunctional therapist as well!

If your child’s mouth is small do not let your dentist pull out their premolars! This will make the airway even smaller.

If you are anemic, pay attention to the BALANCE. Focus on foods such as beef liver, butter, and cod liver oil. Consider stool testing for parasites, infections, and malabsorption. Consider an elimination diet. Grains and low grade food allergies are inflammatory and reduce absorption!
