This patient presented to the hospital with an infected pressure ulcer to the plantar heel with underlying osteomyelitis to the calcaneus. I took the patient to the OR cleaned out all the infection and performed a partial calcanectomy the week prior. My associate Dr. Ennis and I then took the patient back to the OR, further cleaned up the wound, re-attached the Achilles tendon, closed the ulcer as much as possible, and placed a VAC. The circular frame was then placed to allow the patient to ambulate and offload the ulcer while it heals. 🏨

Patient with two failed lapidus procedures, left with hallux varus and an asymptomatic non-union. Previous podiatrist recommended a third revision lapidus and an MPJ fusion. No pain at non-union site or at the MPJ, only complaint is the inability to wear shoes due to varus. Discussed all options with the patient along with pros and cons of each procedure and decided to correct the varus with an “internal brace”. Patient was well aware that it may fail and may still require a fusion in the future and was counseled on what all the bad outcomes would look like. Procedure performed with the interference screws and their Bridgeline tape. Patient is now 9 weeks post op, walking in normal shoes with no pain and happy as can be. Only time will tell how well the repair holds up long term but so far the patient and I are very happy!

6 week old bimalleolar ankle fracture. Pt presented to office walking without assistive device. X-rays showed fracture with callus formation. Was able to get patient into OR quickly and fix their fracture using plates and screws and was able to use the new R3FLEX syndesmotic fixation. The R3FLEX provided great stabilization and was quick and easy to use. Would absolutely use it again and would recommend it to other surgeons. Great addition to the paragon 28 line of products. .ated_nfas

Lateral ankle stabilization with the .flexband. The Artelon flexband is a dynamic matrix that is integrated into replaced by just tissue over a 4-5 year period. The goal is to increase strength of the repair without increasing stiffness. This is a very cool product that I am happy to be able to offer my patients. .ated_nfas .flexband
