It's not about quick fixes or one-size-fits-all plans. It's all about root-cause healing and sustainable, personalized care.

Here’s why👇

Trendy diets, symptom suppression, and crash programs might offer short-term relief—but they often miss the bigger picture. They don’t ask why your symptoms started in the first place, and they rarely lead to lasting results.

In functional medicine, we focus on:

🪷 Identifying and addressing the root causes of imbalance
🪷 Supporting the body’s natural healing systems with evidence-based tools
🪷 Empowering you with the habits and knowledge that actually work for your body

Because wellness is about tuning in, getting the right support, and making changes that actually last.

Me telling every overwhelmed woman with gut and hormone issues that it’s okay not to start with another restrictive diet or 30-day detox.

This advice isn’t wrong.
But it’s not helpful.

What really matters when it comes to true, lasting healing is addressing the root cause—not just managing symptoms.

Instead of cutting out entire food groups, over-exercising, or relying on supplements alone...

I tell my clients:

✨ Nourish your gut with the right types of fiber
✨ Support your nervous system (yes, stress and sleep matter this much)
✨ Balance blood sugar gently, with whole food strategies

This works because we focus on how your body actually functions—not what worked for your friend, that influencer, or a generic protocol.

Your healing doesn’t have to look like anyone else’s. 🪷

Surprising results of a new study show that exercise benefits gut health—even jammed into weekend workouts.

Weekend warriors, this one’s for you 👇

In a study tracking 89,595 adults for nearly 8 years, researchers examined how different movement patterns impacted digestive health.

They looked at conditions like constipation, fatty liver, reflux, and gallstones.

And the results showed…

People who exercised, regardless of whether regularly or just on the weekend, had a significantly lower risk of developing digestive diseases compared to those who were inactive.

🏃🏽‍♂️The key was aiming for at least 150 minutes of activity a week.

A new study says processed foods may trigger inflammation in the body🔥

A study of over 6,000 Canadians found that processed foods, like chips, frozen pizza, and sugary cereals, are strongly associated with chronic inflammation and metabolic dysfunction 💥

The study found that people who ate the most of these foods had:

✔ Larger waist circumference
✔ Elevated blood pressure, insulin, and triglycerides
✔ Higher levels of C-reactive protein (a key inflammation marker)
✔ Increased white blood cells (another sign of inflammation)

It’s almost like the body sees these foods as foreign invaders—something to fight off.

This study reinforces something we emphasize all the time:

👉 Our bodies thrive on real, nutrient-dense foods.

A new study found that even 5 minutes of exercise can boost brain health.

Researchers found that any activity that gets you a little short of breath, like brisk walking, water aerobics, or light jogging, is linked to better:

✔ Processing speed
✔ Executive function (focus, planning, multitasking)
✔ Working memory

And get this:

These benefits showed up in older adults (average age 69), especially in those who went from no movement to just a few minutes a day.

The biggest gains were seen in people who started from zero✨

Even 5 minutes made a difference.

If you’re wondering how to fit in a little more movement, try:

🚶‍♀️ Brisk walk after meals
🏊‍♂️ Splash around in a pool
🎵 Dance break to your favorite playlist
🚲 A light ride around the block

In a shocking study published in a top medical journal, researchers revealed that many women with chronic symptoms feel gaslit, unsafe, and unheard by their providers.

So often we hear from our new clients:

“I was dismissed.”

“I felt gaslit.”

“They told me it was all in my head.”

It’s just wrong.

And it’s especially common in women’s health.

Now a new study (published in JAMA Network Open, a journal of the American Medical Association) confirms what so many have experienced firsthand.

In a survey of 447 patients with vulvovaginal disorders:

▪️Over half considered giving up care due to feeling unheard
▪️Nearly 40% were made to feel “crazy”
▪️1 in 5 said their symptoms weren’t believed
▪️1 in 6 felt unsafe during a medical encounter

Clients saw an average of 5+ providers before getting real help.

And what did the study find at the root of all this?

💥 Dismissive behaviors.
💥 Lack of clinician knowledge.
💥 Recommendations like “just relax” or “have a drink.”

At our practice, we want you to know this:

You are not making it up. Your symptoms are real.

And functional medicine gives us the tools to explore the root causes.

If you’ve ever felt dismissed or just want a better way, book a free complimentary appointment with me at www.reddingnutrition.com to discuss what the best call of action is for you. 🪷

POV: Me telling everyone that summer fun doesn’t have to wreck your blood sugar.

Fresh produce. Lighter meals. More variety.

Seasonal fruits and veggies are:

✔ Packed with fiber (slows down glucose spikes)
✔ Rich in antioxidants (reduces inflammation + supports insulin sensitivity)
✔ Full of water (which helps you feel satisfied without overeating)

Plus, they feed your gut microbiome.

And when your gut is thriving, your blood sugar regulation improves too.

So, what should you eat more of this time of year?

🥒 Berries, leafy greens, cucumbers, tomatoes, zucchini, fresh herbs, and local produce from the farmer’s market or garden.

Go to www.reddingnutrition.com and book a free complimentary appointment if you are interested in bringing nutrition and function back into your body naturally.🪷

Not to be dramatic, but too much plain water can throw off your electrolyte balance.

Especially in summer.

Electrolytes are minerals, like sodium, potassium, and magnesium, that help:

⭐️ Keep your energy stable
⭐️ Regulate nerve and muscle function
⭐️ Support hormone signaling
⭐️ Maintain fluid balance

When you’re sweating more (or chugging water all day without replenishing minerals), electrolyte levels can dip.

That’s when symptoms like headaches, fatigue, muscle cramps, or dizziness can start to show up.

Here’s how to hydrate smarter:

🧂 Add a pinch of sea salt or trace mineral drops to your water
🍋 Squeeze in fresh citrus (vitamin C + flavor + potassium!)
🥥 Use coconut water in smoothies or popsicles
🍓 Infuse water with fruit and herbs
🥬 Eat hydrating foods like cucumber, berries, leafy greens, and melon

Think of hydration as electrolyte support.
