Ever notice how your body sometimes tenses or jumps with touch?
Thatโs your brain predicting whatโs coming next, itโs meant to protect you, but when the body has been holding tension for a long time, those predictions can become overactive.
๐ง New 2025 research explains that massage gives your nervous system safe, slightly new input. Over time, the brain updates its map and realizes: โI donโt need to hold on so tight.โ
I see this shift in my own clients:
โจ Early sessions often come with bracing or trying to โhelpโ me move.
โจ But gradually, I see less guarding, less jumping, and more surrender.
โจ Thatโs why I hear things like:
โWow, I never know what youโre doing next.โ
โYou always keep it fresh.โ
โYou always do something new.โ
Itโs not just variety.
Itโs your body learning safety and trust.
While I love keeping your brain on its toes, the deeper work is happening with your nervous system. Together, weโre rewiring old patterns into trust and release.
This is the part of my work I love most: seeing clients shift from guarding to truly letting go. ๐ค
