February is Heart Health Month, and Shasta Regional Medical Center, is proud to serve as our community’s dedicated heart health hospital — and the only certified Chest Pain Center in the region.

When it comes to heart attacks and cardiac emergencies, every minute matters. Quick access to emergency care can significantly improve outcomes.

❤Symptoms may include chest discomfort, shortness of breath, nausea, lightheadedness, or pain in the arm, jaw, neck, or back.

❤Women in particular may experience more subtle symptoms — sometimes described as “little whispers” — and are more likely to delay seeking care.

❤Medical experts stress: do not ignore these warning signs.

“Prevention is one of the most powerful tools we have,” said Dr. Aazib Khan, Interventional Cardiologist at Shasta Regional Medical Center, “Simple steps like staying active, eating a heart-healthy diet, managing stress, and keeping regular check-ups can make a lasting difference. Small daily choices add up to lifelong heart health.”

âś…Paying attention to your own symptoms is so important.
âś…Taking action is vital!

We are here for our community and so glad Sue McLain listened to her inner whispers and came to our ER. 💙🫶

Thank you Ellislaine for helping us share the importance of Women’s Heart Health with humor, love and meaning!

❤️ Today was powerful.

At Go Red, we celebrated strong women, shared real stories, and talked about something we do not talk about enough. Heart disease is the number one killer of women.

We were reminded that symptoms in women can look different:
• Shortness of breath
• Nausea
• Dizziness
• Unusual fatigue
• Jaw, neck, back, or chest discomfort

Too often we minimize it. We stay quiet. We power through. We tell ourselves it is nothing.

If something feels off, stop.
Make the appointment.
Go to the ER.
Call 911.

You are not being dramatic. You are protecting your life.

Thank you to everyone who showed up today, to our incredible speakers, and to Senator Megan Dahle for courageously sharing her stroke survivor story.

Let’s keep this conversation going long after today. ❤️
