New medical scans are confirming the serious, toxic impact va**ng has on the lungs. Doctors have now documented cases of teenagers developing "popcorn lung," a permanent and incurable condition that can shorten their life expectancy.
Medically known as *bronchiolitis obliterans*, the condition causes irreversible scarring in the airways of the lungs, leading to a persistent cough, wheezing, fatigue, and shortness of breath. While the condition was once linked to a chemical used in popcorn factories, the modern concern comes from the complex mix of chemicals found in e-cigarette v***r. Many of these substances are safe to consume, but inhaling them can make them highly toxic.
The popularity of va**ng, especially among teenagers, has dramatically increased their risk of serious lung damage. Even with some products no longer containing the specific chemical once associated with popcorn lung, replacements may pose a similar threat. When these chemicals are inhaled, they bypass the body's natural filters and can cause lasting damage.
