Some stories stop us in our tracks—reminding us how deeply broken this world is.
The story of Noelia Castillo Ramos is one of them.
Noelia was a young woman who had already endured profound trauma. But instead of receiving the care, protection, and support she deserved, she became the first person in Spain to be euthanized due to depression.
In 2022, while in state care, she was gang-raped. Afterwards, she attempted su***de and was left paraplegic. After several years of fighting for the right to end her life, Noelia received life-ending medication on April 26, 2026.
She deserved better.
Too often, in moments of fear, pressure, or pain, the solution offered is not healing, but the ending of a life.
For women facing unexpected pregnancies, the messages they hear can sound similar:
that their situation is too difficult,
that their future is too uncertain,
that the way they conceived is too traumatic,
that the best way forward is to end the life within them.
Both women and their children deserve more than this.
More than fear.
More than abandonment.
More than being told that death is the only answer to trauma.
Scripture reminds us:
“The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”— John 10:10
As a community, we are called to share in this life-giving work: stepping into hard places with compassion, offering tangible support, sharing the truth in love, and reminding women that they are not alone and that their story does not end here.
Because every life, born and preborn, is made in the image of God, every person deserves care, dignity, and hope.
Thank you for being part of a mission that chooses life, walks with women, and believes that even in the hardest moments, a different story is possible. 💛
