She has played Skee-Ball with a client, edited Anacani songs for another, and even digitized a client’s handwritten poetry into a treasured family keepsake. When she learned a veteran client was struggling to access VA assistance, she helped connect the family with the resources they needed.

Maria’s life experiences guided her to become a Caregiver, and the positive impact she’s making is felt by all who know her. 💚

💚 Congrats to Our Exceptional Caregiver Finalist, Lisa! 💚

When catastrophic wildfires swept through Southern California in January 2025, forcing nearly 200,000 people to evacuate, Lisa remained calm in the face of chaos. As flames approached Altadena, she carefully helped her client, Carol, gather essentials and navigate to safety as evacuation orders came through.

“The LA wildfires were devastating for so many people,” shared Carol’s daughter, Gayle. “It ended up being almost five days of evacuation, and during that time we did not have to worry about my Mom because we knew that she was in the loving, caring hands of Lisa. We knew that she was safe.”

In Carol’s words, “Lisa is not just a Caregiver — she is one of the greatest blessings in my life. She protects my dignity, calms my worries, and fills my days with laughter and companionship. We shop together, travel together, talk about life and loved ones, and share the kind of bond that feels like a gift. She has become my family.”

Kienu stepped in with compassion and presence, ensuring he was safe, supported, and never alone. Her care made a world of difference, giving his wife the peace of mind and freedom to run errands, go grocery shopping, and continue doing the things she loves, like going out to lunch and playing euchre with friends. She described Kienu’s care as “taking care of me.”

When Joe was suddenly hospitalized after an accident, Jill rushed to his side, stayed with him through his discharge to rehabilitation, and continued visiting daily — often bringing June along so Joe was always surrounded by familiar love and support.

With patience, empathy, and professionalism, Jill builds comfort and trust in every home she enters. Families rely on her calm presence, strong communication, and genuine compassion during life’s most difficult moments.
