Reviews like the following remind me of why we do what we do. :
Putting mom in a memory care facility was such a difficult decision, but turned out to be the very best one. It felt like family there. The first night Patricia, the Director, stayed late to assist my mom into the facility. We had cared for mom at home far longer than we should have and even getting her into a car was a challenge. It was like taking your child to kindergarten the first day and leaving her there with a kind teacher saying, “It’s ok, go ahead and she will be fine.” And she was.
Mom liked to walk and there was plenty of room for that. Four wide hallways connect the main sitting area, two dining rooms, two living rooms, and the residents rooms. I liked that they had comfy chairs in several areas along the halls. Every staff member that walked by acknowledged her with a greeting by name, maybe a hug, even a little dance. She was a very social person and loved that. They always engaged with me as well and I would like to thank them for their contribution to moms care: Danielle, Kiana, Jo, Courtney, Andre, Sarah, Bree, Evan, Joanna, Cary, Chloe, Zach, Lidia, Thayer, Cassidy, Jessica, Christina…. I’m so sorry but I am certain there are missing names. You all made a difficult time of life for mom dignified and happy.
The facility surrounds a patio and garden area where residents are free to get some fresh air and sunshine. I liked that this was in the middle of the place and no danger to residents. It is a secure facility but doesn’t feel like it. Family is given the code for the door and welcomed anytime to come visit. Everyone was so pleasant while doing their job. I appreciated mom was clean and dressed, something we were not able to accomplish at home, so when I was there I got to enjoy her without the struggle.
The nurses were always available if I had a question, and the entire staff was amazing. Anything we asked for they did. I felt like we were partners caring for my sweet mom and she always responded to them with smiles and chatter, even hugs. Our mom died here after one year, and I could not imagine a more peaceful moment. They took care of all the family’s needs and helped us through that difficult time. I will always be grateful for the love and dignity mom received at Willow Springs.

I've never had a job where I've felt so fulfilled at the end of the day. I want to thank Karen, along with all of the families that have allowed us to be a part of their journey throughout the years
