🪩Our Pilates Party Week Starts tonight at 5:30pm with
🤔Did you know Reformer Pilates and mat Pilates both focus on controlled movements to strengthen muscles, improve flexibility, and enhance posture, but they differ in their approach and equipment.
⚙️Reformer Pilates uses a specialized machine called a “reformer,” which consists of a sliding carriage, springs, and adjustable straps and bars. The reformer adds resistance and support, allowing for a wider range of exercises targeting specific muscle groups. The equipment helps guide movements, making it especially beneficial for individuals looking for a low-impact but challenging workout or those who may need support during injury recovery.
💪🏼Our Mat Pilates, on the other hand, is performed on the floor with minimal equipment. It primarily uses your body weight as resistance, with some exercises enhanced by small props like resistance bands, foam rollers, or a Pilates ring. Mat Pilates can be highly effective in building core strength, flexibility, and balance, often offering more of a whole-body workout that relies on internal stability. We also have so many fun tools we can add to the mix like our TRX, body balls, weights, Pilates balls, Pilates rings, resistance bands and so much more!
🫶🏼Favoring mat Pilates is easy to understand, as it provides more freedom and accessibility—you can practice nearly anywhere, with little to no equipment. Additionally, mat Pilates encourages a deeper internal connection to movement, since it’s entirely self-supported, which helps with awareness, alignment, and form.
😎Don’t take our word for it. Come feel the difference for yourself during our Pilates take over starting tonight!
